Le'Veon Jackson needs to fire his agent for all this negligence. He is going to lose millions due to this stupidity.

But when Scott Boras does it he’s brilliant.

Scott Boras is also a professional sports agent; so you know, negotiating high value contracts is kinda his entire fricking job.

$175 million injury guarantee (Mahomes only got $140 Million injury)
I don’t understand how people can turn that down.

Imagine turning down generational money when you came from nothing.

Greed will be the end of us all.

Lamar is his own agent. That should tell you a lot.

The dude is a high functioning retard.

I wouldn’t give him 1/3 that. Once his legs are only about 75 percent effective and he has to actually read a defense he’s toast.

And the injuries are piling up

But the sports media wants to play it off as something more and a hatred towards Lamar.

And they’ve already restructured the Watson deal because browns have no money to spend to help him
If browns don’t hit in the draft Watson will have no chance

Deep down, I don’t think the lack of interest in Lamar is really about the money. If he were truly viewed as elite in the Mahomes, Herbert, etc category, he could name his price/guarantees and someone would be desperate enough to take it. I think it has more to do with him peaking in 2019 and then regressing each season since, with a playing style that will make him likely continue to regress as his body takes the beating of a running back.

He’s not a guy you want to be paying guaranteed money to into his late 20s and early 30s. Cam Newton, with a much more physical build, absolutely fell off a talent cliff starting at around Lamar Jackson’s age now. And he was playing MVP level football in his 5th year unlike Lamar’s dud of a season last year.

The fact of the matter is that he’s a ridiculously high level athlete playing QB but isn’t a particularly elite QB.

Once the athleticism wanes he’s done.

The Ravens have consistently been one of the most well run franchises over the last 30 years. Their decision making with Lamar Jackson might be the wisest of them all. They basically got the best 5 years of Lamar’s career for pennies and are smart enough not to lose half the roster to unnecessarily pay for the worst 5 years of his career.

If Lamar Jackson couldn’t get you a Super Bowl with tons of cap space to build around him, how is he going to with a depleted roster surrounding him?

I'm all about players getting their money and "you're worth what the market will pay you", but turning down $200 million guaranteed because it wasn't as good as Watson's $230 million guaranteed is beyond absurd.

If the NBA, Nerlens Noel, & Dennis Schroeder are any cautionary tale, betting on yourself when you don't have much to gain from it is a stupid idea.

they both lost 80mil. Lamar is doing all this potentially can lose him millions all for what, 30mil?

He would be firing himself. There are times when being your own agent is a good idea. This is not one of them.

$15 mil after taxes and such.

Personally I'm not risking what the ravens offered for another 15 mil.

I'm taking my 100 mil after taxes and not regretting it

What’s your point? It’s about getting paid and getting the most money for your client. Which Lamar is trying to do.

He's overplaying his hand. This is where a professional would really help him.

I also think there is going to be a point soon where the tides start changing as far as QB contracts. More and more fans are finally starting to figure out that teams who pay QBs (other than Mahomes) at the top of the market don't win anything. Eventually, teams will figure it out too. You either have to be elite or cheap at QB. Lamar is neither. He will never have another season like 2019 again.
