My love for Major League Baseball is waning
I actually enjoyed the Savannah Bannannas baseball this weekend

That’s what all of them deserve for not perfecting their craft and pushing the ball the other way. I have no problem with the Red Sox doing this and I hope any batter that refuses to try to go the other way bats .120
Change your feet. Adjust your stance and turn your body 10° closed. Something. Anything.

Supposedly the best hitters on the planet. Let them figure it out.
I mean this is a weird self refuting argument.
Are you suggesting that it’s “supposedly” because there are actually better hitters out there but they aren’t being allowed to play?
You don’t think these guys would just do the things y’all are suggesting they do if 1) it was doable and 2)it was ultimately productive?
I mean maybe the fact that the best hitters in the world DONT do something should be good info for you.

Nobody ever wanted a league where we see Rob Deer vs Mark Wohlers 27 times a game but that’s what we’ve got.
That’s outstanding. I always like to say the problem with baseball is everyone suddenly became Adam Dunn.

Nice! Banning the shift was stupid.

Do players really need to toss around a ball every half inning to warm up?
Have you ever played baseball before?
Yes, people need to warmup between innings. Especially the pitchers

Better have a 3B and LF that can run a 4.2 40yd dash.

Why should the fielding team be penalized because the hitters suck and refuse to broaden their skillset?
Because the analytics boon has been such a ridiculous advantage for pitchers, who already have an advantage by the sheer fact that they're throwing a very small object at a very high rate of speed in a very short distance. The best hitters of all time failed 65% of the time; hitting major league pitching is probably the hardest thing to do in pro sports.
Banning the shift finally gives something back to the hitters.

MLB is a joke because they keep trying to cater to people that don’t watch. I realize the pace of the game doesn’t mesh well with the younger generation, but I’m not sure adding clocks is the way to go.
I wouldn’t care if they split screen commercials when they come back to the game. You could shave 30 seconds each half inning. Just don’t do it in the 9th so a pivotal homer won’t be missed.
Baseball fans hate change, even good change.
The pitch clock is good. The clock on the batter is good. Players will adjust and the sport will be better for it. Everyone has their panties in a wad because of some spring training instances. If you haven’t adjusted by the time we get to April that is on you.
I have no interest in watching a hitter take his batting gloves off twice or staring off into space only for the pitcher to take a second to long and the batter step out again to repeat.
Yes, commercials are a problem too, but these aren’t mutually exclusive. Commercials bring in revenue. Joe Blow staring into space before he steps into the box to get in the zone brings nothing and only makes games longer.
Get in the box and let’s go.

And the reasons batters wouldn’t just bunt for a single against the infield shift was because of analytics
Take the base any time your team is behind and you cannot at least tie it. Your run doesn't matter without more.
also probably makes sense when x number ahead

I completely agree about this one. Plus it has been around in the minors for a while successfully.

Do players really need to toss around a ball every half inning to warm up?
The pitcher can go toss a few in the hitting cage down in the tunnel while his team is hitting if he needs to.

These fricking idiots in baseball refuse to do that though. So what does the MLB do? Punish the defense for the offense's ineptitude.

Uhh, most people figure this out about 10 minutes after the rule change was announced.

Baseball analytics can kiss my arse. Leave it to those losers in Boston to come up with this.
