Dude, he hit 3 bogeys in a row yesterday and withdrew on the 16th hole. Then passed away last night. He has a history of depression and substance issues.
He played well last weekend but maybe it's hard to focus on the bigger picture for some people.

I feel like some people are so hopeful he died from the vaccine so it can prove their theory right. Just absolutely insane shite.

He’s battled demons for a long time. Fifteen years ago, in the middle of his amateur career, he was considered a generational talent.
Then fell back into the pack. Did his problems begin to surface then, or did others simply catch up with him?
Then he showed a lot of promise when he first turned pro, but alcohol exasperated his depression and mental health problems. His career and reputation took a big hit that lasted for several years. However, he had appeared to conquer his demons and get his life and career back on track.
He won in Hawaii earlier this year, had a Top 10 finish a couple of weeks ago in a signature event (Wells Fargo), and made the cut in the first two majors.
He had some kind of breakdown or relapse this week. Unfortunately, his story is not unique. Others stop worrying or paying close attention when someone appears to be on the right track, but a bender or wave of depression can overwhelm someone with his history, even when everyone else thinks he has conquered his demons.

Mental illness is real, baw.
People like you having cavalier attitudes about this subject is why we have a mental health epidemic In this country.

If those people had seen any of the player interviews today, it would be painfully obvious what the cause of death was

Yeah, they aren’t releasing it publicly yet, but his history would point to suicide, unfortunately.

Nope. Not sitting in judgment of the guy for that, someone just said he’d griped about the PGA so I tracked down his actual gripe and shared it for discussion purposes, and it has stirred discussion.

The pressure of the PGA tour is immense for people. Even strong-willed individuals crumble. A guy on the fringe of stability should probably be doing something else.

From Golf.Com:
“In 2017, his rookie season on Tour, Murray invited a Playboy model to caddie for him at the Masters Par-3 Contest (Murray failed to qualify for the Masters so the stunt never had a chance to materialize); fired a caddie mid-round; and apologized for an inappropriate tweet he sent to a high school girl. In the final round of the 2022 U.S. Open, Murray flung his putter into the fescue and snapped an iron over his knee en route to a 10-over 80; four months later he crashed a scooter in Bermuda, leaving him unconscious, in need of 50 stitches and with a serious knee injury.”
It sounds like this poor guy might have always been on the edge of out of control.

Yep. The Malnati interview was rough.

Read on X that Malnati played with Murray yesterday and after he WD, Malnati implored tour officials to check on Murray.
