Booty and Todd Walker both went in top 10 in '93. Booty signed the record deal at the time. Which kept him from coming to LSU and winning 3 Heismans and the '94 and '95 CWS. With Booty at SS, we win 5 CWS in a row, and 7 of 10 between 91-2000

But that’s not what caused it to get heated. Barbe coach told every West Monroe player, “Take that!” in the handshake line after the game. West Monroe coach called him out and Barbe coach got hot.

He is a great baseball mind but I’ve known many guys that have played for him.
He’s a little off center and loses his voice after every game. Anything will piss him off. And he runs that school so nobody will ever tell him to back down.
The team had a sign made that they showed WM after the pileup that said “you mad cause you ain’t us” or something like that.

They have a history of doing bush league shenanigans like that. I don’t mind kids talking a little trash to each other, but coaches should never talk or act competitively towards another teams kids. Cecchini and his assistants have always done that crap.
Cecchini also can’t handle anyone except for him, taking little jabs, or being disrespectful towards other coaches. The second there’s any sign of disrespect towards Barbe, he becomes a diva. He thinks he’s the only one who can be disrespectful and bush league towards other teams. Writing down “Ourselves” as the opponent on a scorecard, is very mild compared to what Barbe has done for years now. It’s a shame because he’s a great coach, has built an insane baseball program, and has done great things for kids in LC. I don’t know why he feels the need to act like that.
