I googled “best high school baseball teams in history “. Barbe’s 2014 team actually came in at #19.

I completely agree that the split is bad for baseball, but let’s not pretend that certain select programs have competed and succeeded at the state level post split.

No offense, but Barbie may be best team in recent history; but they are not the best program in state history. Catholic league team holds that.

Barbe is easily the best program in the state and has been for the last 25yrs

Is that when they won their first title?

Okay, you sound like Notre Dame Fighting Irish fans. Knute Rockne is dead, and Barbe baseball is far and away the top baseball program in Louisiana High school.

I'm all for acknowledging the greatness of both the Barbe and Jesuit baseball programs and another reason to hate this stupid split in Louisiana.

So when is the appropriate year to start? Do we go to when Cechinni got there or do we go to when Barbe started. You let me know the metrics. How about to 1990 is that a good year. If so a Catholic league school has multiple pre split. If you want to just be pro Barbe cool. But let’s not act like it’s a Notre Dame type thing where state championships are decades In The past. Already acknowledged that I think what Barbe has done in recent past is top of the state.
And just for context- Barbe was founded in 1971. Jesuit has won 9 since then. So let’s compare apples to apples on world beaters!

Not only does Jesuit have the most titles, they also have the most runners up as well…
Posted on 5/13/23 at 9:55 pm to BARNEYSTINSON
So 1990, barbe has more than Jesuit.
Go back to 1980…barbe has more
Go back to 1970…barbe has more
Barbe has 12
Since 1970 Jesuit has less, got tired of going back and all of barbe are since 1998 not the Stone Age

One hundred percent positive I acknowledged there recent success and being the top program. Also noting success of Jesuit. If you can’t acknowledge that both can be correct- that’s your issue.
I’ve provided a comparison of only when Barbe came in to existence. Not Jesuits issue that they have succeeded in that time frame as well as prior or that they have been a school longer.

And Jesuit has 9 in that period. So again, Jesuit is all time winningest program and Barbe is top program I. The state. This isn’t hard to comprehend.

Somehow I don’t believe that

Speaking of Barbe and Jesuit, the last two times they both won state, I’m not sure Barbe beats them either year.
