Does the NFL do anything right?

Point of having best record in the conference was to have home field for every playoff game before the Super Bowl.
I don’t think this is what teams wanted when they added that extra playoff team, meaning only one bye per conference.

NFL wants the CCGs to be big ticket corporate and rich people games like the Super Bowl. They see the opportunity. They want to stop letting blue collar fans afford these games by moving the games to neutral sites and letting corporate and national audience buy them out

If they go to all neutral site title games, it'll be in warm-weather cities or indoors. No way they would play in NY in late January.

This seems like outrage bait
And the MSB took it hook, line, and sinker.

They’ve been wanting this for a few years. I guess they have the opportunity now

Toss away old phrases like, "The road to the Super Bowl goes through __________," if this ridiculous idea gains traction.
The regular season is already diminished enough by too many games (17) and nearly half the league making the playoffs, some with losing records.
This is a rotten idea, so it will likely happen.
Imagine something as awesome and as special as the Saints winning the NFC Championship Game with Hartley's field goal happening anywhere but New Orleans. That thought illustrates how bad this is.

Home playoff games in the NFL are the most exciting thing about the NFL. They are more exciting than the superbowl by far. Making these neutral site is dumb. It will just take one more event away from regular fans, it will be come superbowl expensive for a game that is traditionally reasonably priced for regular ticket holders.

It definitely robs a host city/fans of money.

I’ve started to believe that mike florio is being trolled by the whole nfl. The dude always comes out with some story he got from his sources that’s outrageous and it never comes true , ever.

Don't worry, Jags will make sure this doesn't happen.

Imagine a scenario where a higher seeded Tennessee Titans team plays the Pittsburgh Steelers somewhere like New York. Or a higher seeded Cardinals teams team plays the Cowboys in New Orleans. You completely flip home field advantage. Why even play for it at that point? That means achieving the #1 seed does nothing but assure you one home playoff game against the lowest seeded winner in the wildcard round. It also takes away a shite ton of money from those teams and cities who earned home field advantage. The only winner here is the NFL so they can jack up the price of tickets and have another corporate event like the Super Bowl.
While I totally agree that this is quite possibly the stupidest idea in the history of the NFL, shifting home field advantage would be a non-issue. When was the last time a team had home crowd advantage at a Super Bowl? Like a Super Bowl, the vast majority of tickets for neutral site conference championship games would be controlled thru the NFL office. There simply wouldn't be enough tickets on the open market for any one fan base to make a difference at such a game.

It’s the NFL. They all will
There are plenty of fan bases who can't regularly fill their own stadium

If Bills-Chiefs doesn’t happen, the fact that 50,000 tickets were sold in 24 hours for a game that was still only theoretical becomes the next best argument for giving the neutral-site thing a whirl, even if it’s only a one-year experiment that quickly becomes permanent.
Now give us the number of tickets already sold in KC and Buffalo for the AFC Championship.

I don’t like this idea. The number one seed has earned home field advantage.

We already saw this last year in the NFCCG.
