Geez. Stop fricking with a playoff system that was pretty great.

It’s retarded that they added a game and now only 1 seed gets a bye. This also retarded.

It’s the NFL. They all will

No, they all won't. Some NFL fanbases have home games taken over by with tens of thousands of fans from large national fanbases. What do you think will happen when a team who otherwise would have home field advantage has to go on the road to a neutral site?

Imagine a scenario where a higher seeded Tennessee Titans team plays the Pittsburgh Steelers somewhere like New York. Or a higher seeded Cardinals teams team plays the Cowboys in New Orleans. You completely flip home field advantage. Why even play for it at that point? That means achieving the #1 seed does nothing but assure you one home playoff game against the lowest seeded winner in the wildcard round. It also takes away a shite ton of money from those teams and cities who earned home field advantage. The only winner here is the NFL so they can jack up the price of tickets and have another corporate event like the Super Bowl.

Wouldn’t you prefer that to seeing the same-old partisan crowd for a postseason game? Sure that’s already awesome! But this would be awesomer!

No, I wouldn’t prefer it, and no, it wouldn’t be awesomer.

Can’t wait for them to add a coin flip for home field advantage to other rounds. That’s what they wanted to do for a Baltimore and Cincinnati.

The league will totally do this and then wonder why the Super Bowl is no longer special.

neutral-site

Can we get neutral officiating?

Oh wait, the NFL is court documents stated entertainment.

The NFL can change the rules or enforce them anyway they want without much notice.

Would quickly turn into 75% corporate tickets and real fans get left out.

Which is obviously what they want. Stay at home and watch on tv, peasants, while the elite pose for the cameras and kiss each others' asses at the stadium. There isn't a sports league more corporate than the NFL.

Good lord the greed of the NFL will never be satiated will it?

Give it 10 more years and they'll make the entirety of the playoffs neutral site and bid it out ever season.

All sports are going in this direction. Quickly. Average fans are being priced out of sporting events and I don't think any league is all that upset about it.

I could see how this would be attractive to the NFL brass in NYC and their TV partners, but there is no way the owners would go along with this.

Goodell has done a lot of ridiculous things but that would be one of the biggest mistakes he could ever make

At the rate Goodell is going, half the games might be overseas or international markets

Pretty much. Which tells me the next step is a 16 team playoff. I wouldn't be surprised.
