UNTOLD is back with three new films premiering weekly starting August 25.

• The Testimony of Vince Young | The story of the Texas Longhorns legend who was NFL's next big thing — until injuries, conflict, and sudden loss complicated his story.

• Raygun: Breaking Badly | Revisiting Rachel Gunn’s performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics and the avalanche of memes, misinformation, and conspiracy theories that followed.

• Mr. T: I Pity The Fool | The extraordinary origin story behind Laurence Tureaud -- one of the most unlikely and beloved icons in entertainment.

These are so hit or miss. The chess one from this year was great but the “jailblazers” one felt so unnecessary. They weren’t even that good.

Agree. Jail Blazers were interest because the time dictated that smoking weed was awful. Yeah, they had some thugs too. But the documentary also made it seemed like mean whitey didn’t want these innocent basketball players living near them. Not true…Portland loved their team until a new GM decided to sign sex offenders and dudes that fought all the time.

I don’t recall VY being the NFL’s next big thing. His sidearm motion was criticized, and it’s a league where running qbs can have a short lifespan.

The Testimony of Vince Young

Hopefully they cover his decision to purchase almost every ticket on a flight from Houston to Nashville so he didn’t have to be around other people.

The Jail Blazers doc could have been great but didn’t even tell the craziest stories like all the Quintel Woods antics or Rueben Patterson. It was largely about Sheed and Damon who just liked to smoke weed and got a lot of techs. Not interesting at all.

Most of these have not been good. The Urban Florida doc was terrible.

Given that he's sitting down for it, I doubt it does anything beyond surface level stuff. These are usually terrible and very terrible when they let the subject run the story.

I can picture it now. Vince telling you how awesome he was while they show some of his college highlights. They’ll show the Ohio State and USC games and mention them destroying opponents in between. They’ll show Vince waltzing into the end zone. He will laugh and say how he thought the NFL would be easy, and mention the ROY. Then he will mention how he loved to party and everyone loved him and it just got to be a bit much. But if he stayed straight, he thinks he coulda given Brady and the Pats a run for their money. End of story.

He won rookie of the year fwiw. Had two/three pretty good seasons overall. Jeff Fisher just couldn’t stand him.

I honestly think Steve McNair’s death messed him up a bunch, but the doc should be good regardless

Untold gets great subject matter but I’ve disappointed in most. They cover most things pretty surface level and it’s almost unnecessary to watch if you’re even vaguely familiar with the topic.

Vince may have been the best College Football Player ever.

And the Texas / USC game may be the best championship ever in college football.

Damn shame he flamed out

He wasn't too bright. Scored a 6/50 on the Wonderlic IIRC. That might've been why.

rookie of the year

He was terrible. He had a 51.5 completion percentage and a td/int split of 12/13. The Titans won eight games despite his poor play.

They went 6-1 in their last 7 games. He had 4 GW drives in the last 2:30 of the 4Q/OT. Also had 500+ rushing yards and 7 TDs.

His starting receivers were Brandon Jones and Drew Bennett.

Honestly, it was pretty similar to the Tebow situation except he had worse receivers than Demariyus Thomas and Eric Decker.

Those are dogshit numbers any way you try to dress it. No surprise that the team was markedly better in 2008 with a washed up Kerry Collins.
