First of, rest in piece Kyle.
Also, this seems like a credible story of what happened to Kyle

Double pneumonia. Blood filled lungs. From RCR guy. Passed out on the sim. Couldn’t get a pulse back. Terrible

That’s the word going around now and what was posted in a group chat I’m a part of with people that have connections.

Double lung pneumonia. He’s had it the last 4 weeks. Walked to the ambulance then walked from the ambulance into the hospital. Did scans and saw both lungs completely full of blood then his entire body started to literally blow up like a tick. He was out of it the last 12 hours or life. Went on a ventilator at 2am and coded 3 times during the night and was long gone before they even announced actual death. But the pneumonia is what killed him first everything else that happened, was after he was already gone. He did pass out after he got of the sim at Chevy. That’s when the ambulance came.

Brexton was racing at hickory motor speedway when all this was going down he got his hot laps in but has a DNS for the feature.
Tried to verify this on MRP and the speedway website but both don’t have yesterday’s results, unfortunately.
Edit: did find this on the track FB

Rowdy was unique in many ways.
He calmed down a lot after he and Samantha got together. But he was still a lot of the same on the track.
Two weeks ago at Texas he wrecked John Hunter Nemechek in the white flag lap because Nemecheck pissed him off.
Kyle’s radio communications were hilarious and impressive at the same time. He would argue and curse out his crew chief about what he wanted done to his car. He knew more about his car than most of the drivers. He gave specific instructions on the adjustments. Most drivers can’t say what they want other than being loose or tight.
Two of my most memorable moments happened at Texas. The time he wrecked Hornaday during caution lap at Texas and a few years later when he got two unsportsmanlike penalties on pit road for flipping off the official on pit road.
In this current NASCAR environment it’s hard to find another wheelman that everyone loved to hate. He was respected for his ability but was hated for it at the same time.

I thought I'd never forgive him for this one. Cost Hornaday the championship.
But I guess I did yesterday.

Probably was more like Dale than anyone that's left.
People (not you) conveniently forget that Dale got a lot of boos, too.

Just to clarify. Blood in the air spaces in the lungs is called alveolar hemorrhage which is typically different than pneumonia which is infection/inflammation. Knowing that he was complaining of a “sinus infection” last week and asked for a shot (possibly to include steroids), this is consistent with a progressive pneumonia, bacterial or viral.CT can suggest blood, but need a BAL, (bronchoalveolar lavage)
Now if lungs actually did have bleeding, that is worrisome for a nasty virus.for full list ask your favorite AI what viruses cause pulmonary hemorrhages.
Very best case for public is that this is bacterial. Otherwise Best case is that this was a severe form of flu A (like H1N1) or SARS2(Covid), worse case Hanta or other. I suspect they are waiting on the diagnostic test to come back to determine infectious source and hopefully announce as the story of what happened gets around. It will be natural and appropriate to be concerned about a transmissible cause.
The blowing up like a balloon at the end is consistent with them pumping fluids to support the ongoing cardiovascular collapse.

There is not one single documented case of the Hantavirus currently in the US and only 11 total worldwide from the ship. Stop with the nonsense.

In the context of a man simply paying tribute to his former boss and current competitor? No. If this was a thread about Bubba and how he sucks as a driver then yea. Do you not understand the difference? Some of you mfers are ruined

Wonder if they may cancel and reschedule this weekend. Most teams have put out or starting to release statements regarding driver appearances being canceled.

That has the ring of truth to me. If he’s had it for a while and still been walking around and racing, it’s nothing drivers haven’t done in the past, you miss races with NASCAR’s long schedule, you’re screwed in the points. Ned Jarrett raced with a broken back 60 years ago because he was going for the points title … and won it … and couldn’t afford to sit out.

No, they'll race
It's what Rowdy would have wanted.

I don’t know how to share an Instagram post but Austin Dillon posted a tribute to Kyle that unless you’re just a heartless bastard will make you wonder who’s peeling onions.

Yeah, the only reason they won't drop the rag is if weather won't allow it. Sponsor commitments, fans' travel plans, etc. all dictate that the show must go on
When Dale died they all loaded up and went to Rockingham. The race started but they barely got going when rain moved in and pushed it to Monday.

That's what killed my brother in law, he was only 23 and caught it on his honeymoon in the Caribbean. It moved quick too, he was starting to feel sick when he got home, and was gone within a week.

Man that’s really sad. Whole life ahead of you starting a family and something like that happens. Just gut wrenching

What do y’all think of RCR retiring #8 for a long time like they did with Dale? Change the #8 to #29 or #33.

The 8 doesn't have the same meaning for RCR that the 3 does. It just happened to be available when Rowdy signed. Plus, Busch wasn't associated with the 8 like Dale was with the 3.
And, if they pull the 8 and change it to 29, that's gonna cause unnecessary drama with the stupidos among the NASCAR fan base. I say honor Kyle by keep on keepin on with the 8.

I would have to assume he had already went to the Dr. How was there not more precautions taken knowing he had double phenomena?
