Has there ever been more actual talent in a sports movie than this one?

There has never been a Michael Caine movie I didn't like (admittedly I haven't seen all of his movies).

Plus Max Von Sydow and Stallone and Pele.

It's almost dead on accurate in basketball and on football as well, the shite that goes on is ridiculous. I remember Stanley Roberts driving around in a new Maxima while he was a Prop 48 his first year....it was a "loaner". I knew football players whose parents would get "gifts" right after signing day.

Go and read about Eric Dickerson and his Camaro or Trans Am that TAMU gave him to sign and then he goes to SMU and a booster pays it off for him

I really liked how the character played by Matt Nover pretty much spells it out for Nolte during recruiting...plus his Dad got a brand new tractor

Someone buy this man a beer. Awesome movie with a decent cast (Dennis Quaid, Daniel Stern, Jackie Earle Haley).

Don't typically care for sports movies & prefer Boxing ,but I thought Raging Bull flaunts with the overrated title.

Pesci/ DeNiro chemistry saved the movie.

Blind Side is beloved by women and prosperity gospel evangelicals. Consequently, I think it sucks major arse.

For underrated, I'm going with The Rookie. Dennis Quaid as a high school baseball coach. For some reason at the last blood drive here at work, they set it up on the projectors so people would have something to watch while donating. Not sure why they didn't do TV shows since you're only in there about 30-40 minutes max, but I had never seen it.

Overrated, A league of their own. And Dottie dropped it on purpose.

Airborne was the best sports movie. It combined ice hockey, roller hockey and downhill rollerblading. And one of Jack Blacks first acting appearances.

La Ola es mia.

ETA Also had vert and park rollerblade action.

Best ever.
