When I first watched Field of Dreams as a "sports movie" I thought is was terrible. Hated it. A couple of years later I gave it a second chance and instead watched it was as just a regular movie I enjoyed it and it has become one of my favorite movies of all time.

Rocky won Best Picture. By definition it's overrated. And consider it beat 3 of the best and most important movies of the last 50 years: All the President's Men, Taxi Driver and Network. In addition, the way Rocky got a title bout is completely preposterous. I love soundtrack and the inspirational moments though, even though they are now a cliche.

I'll be accused of heresy here, but I think Raging Bull is one of the best sports movies ever AND one of the most overrated sports movies ever. I think it's like Scorcese's 10th best movie. I think some of it is too pretentious and overdone.

Field of Dreams is an awesome movie. But it’s more about life and relationships. If you go into it the first time thinking it’s a ‘sports movie’ and you’re simple-minded, I get why you wouldn’t like it.

In general, football movies suck. Rudy is the best one I’ve ever seen, although it could’ve been much better. I dont get why so many people are trashing it.

I think Million Dollar Baby and Moneyball were the 2 most overrated sports movies I’ve ever seen.
