Remember the titans has an incredible soundtrack, though.

As does Friday Night Lights though.

Most overrated sports movie: Rudy
(Seems like the #1 vote in this thread for good reason)

Worst sports movie: Draft Day
(Cleveland Browns deserve a winless decade for that, even if they were against the movie)

Remember the Titans > Friday Night Lights

Nothing beats Sunshine stepping up for Coach Boone and his 12 brothers and sisters. And Frick Ray!!!

1st thing that came to mind. Truly an awful movie.

Followed closely by Friday Night Lights.

The most overrated movie to me is Any Given Sunday. Oliver Stone just tried way too hard.

I’ve never seen Field of Dreams all the way through

Agree.

Years ago a few friends were having a convo about the best speech in a movie. Three of them said Pacino's speech in that movie and I couldnt believe it.

That movie is pretty much the fast & furious of sports movies, but 10x worse

Know this isn't remotely relevant to OP's question but I feel Blue Chips is an underrated sports movie: directed by the legendary William Friedkin, starring Nick Nolte, Mary McDonnell, Shaq, Penny Hardaway, JT Walsh, Ed O'Neill, etc depicting the black market of big-time college sports and how hard it is to keep a program clean. Kinda makes you appreciate what Bobby Knight accomplished at IU more keeping that program nationally relevant annually while still keeping it clean, simply riveting.

The Replacments was badass.

Shane Falco > Tom Brady

ETA: Don’t anybody dare to name that movie.

I came in thread solely to make sure no one named this movie. I’m already in the sonic parking lot waiting on someone to try and talk shite on the replacements.

If anything it is the most underrated

Field of Dreams is a good vote, mainly due to the absurd premise. The rest of the movies mentioned are at least plausible.

Baseball has a few ridiculous movies. Field of Dreams, Angels in the Outfield, Rookie of the Year, etc.

This. There is a special list of Sports Movies so great that they are simply beyond reproach. The Replacements and Major League are at the top of the list.
