When did I mention Eloy?

I didn't say you did. I'm explaining why they aren't going to move Schwarber. They have once again demonstrated their commitment to him by moving Eloy for Quintana.
The moves are related because Theo said they were. He is committed to these position players thus he could justify moving Eloy.

Holy smokes, cards just made an amazing trade. Traded a pitcher who will never pitch in the majors for us, in exchange for #26 overall prospect.

Yeah I can't imagine trying to navigate a major league park while tripping balls

That's a ton of strikeouts in the lineup with both Gallo and Schwarber
This. We already have our form of Schwarber. Don't really need two. Baez doesn't work either with Andrus and Odor. It would have to start with Almora or Happ (likely Almora) and that just doesn't do it I think

The Cardinals just traded Marco Gonzales for a top 40 prospect O'Neill from the Mariners.
Good lord - the Sox have been trading studs for top 40s, and the Cardinals get one for a stiff.

Jerry Dipoto will not rest until he dooms Seattle for a decade.

You'd have to think that this O'Neill guy is just trade bait for another move to be made. If there is on thing the Cardinals have it's a lot of decent but nothing special outfielders....
Giving up Gonzales is nothing though so I'm cool with it.
Also I'm pretty sure O'Neill isn't the 28th best prospect in baseball. I don't think he's even a top 100 guy. Still don't care about giving up Gonzales though.

With Dave Stewart gone the Mariners very well might have the worst front office in baseball

They had a really good offseason, but I think they are gonna push for the postseason only to screw themselves long term.

You don't move Eloy if you're intending on trading Schwarber. It just doesn't make sense.
When they traded Eloy, they were saying that Schwarber is their LF of now and the future. I think Baez is the piece they'll deal in a trade for a controllable starter. Then they'll put Happ at 2B.

Texas needs pitching prospects. Not bats.

I don't even see how this is a push for the postseason move. It makes zero sense all around

I dunno, maybe outfield injuries? But it looks like O'Neill has been pretty poor in AAA.

O'Neill is not really a top 40 prospect by any measure. He's certainly nothing close to Jimenez. Rutherford is overrated imo, but even he is ranked/valued much higher than O'Neill right now.
BA did not have him in their mid-season top 100, BP didn't have him in their mid-season top 50, Law had him outside the top 50.

Here is a good article about his current value.

Tyler O’Neill and Friends will not bring back Chad Kuhl, or Julio Teheran, or Jeff Samardzija
He is likely to be in the back end of the top 100 at the best when Pipeline updates, although he has been swinging it better lately.

Did they? The Smyly 3 way trade looks horrendous. What did they do that was so impressive?

Don't know if I want to post that one
