I do like the Segura and Haniger acquisitions a lot.

Segura has been really good, but so has Walker. I can't remember who else was in that deal besides Marte who has been bad. They also signed Segura to a 5/70 extension with a full NTC in June, so there's that. Maybe I'm being harsh on the Mariners front office but I think they're pretty bad.

I like what they are doing. They are a dangerous team if they get in.

Tyler Oneil has become a dime a dozen prospect
Id rather have Gonzalez at this point. Young lefty who has flashed already

They are not a bad team at all as currently constructed but I think they have set themselves up for a rough landing after this little window of going for it.
Not sure they're going to be good enough to make it worth it, but we'll see.

Ehh he got rocked in his one big league start this year. I think he could actually be a really good bullpen lefty, but he gives up a lot of long balls. Will fit much better in that Seattle climate.
He's already been passed up by Reyes, Flaherty, Weaver, Hudson and Gallen on the prospect chart.

We finally got rid of Marco? About damn time.
TJ surgery last year pretty much screwed him with us, it's been time to move on.

6 MLB innings in the last 3 seasons and 40 IP total in his career, though. His MiLB track record makes him interesting. He very well could just be a AAAA guy, but he really hasnt gotten a fair shake. Like you said, SEA may do him good.

Rightfully so, those guys are good and he's already 25 w/ injury history.
If STL wasn't married to Mike Leake and Wainwright contracts, Gonzalez would probably gotten an extended look by now.

The #STLCards say O'Neill will join Memphis. In last 24 games he is hitting .326 with 13 homers. A former 2nd round draft pick.
Looks like he may be getting back on track as well, ended last season #38 overall prospect and M's #1, still just 22.
Great swap.

Didn't realize you were a cards fan
I'd love to see flaherty and weaver in the rotation right now. Gallen looks real good, too

I'd be surprised if Marco turned into anything better than a spot starter/long reliever out of the pen. O'Neil may turn out to be a AAAA guy but I doubt he'll be in STL for long. Pretty sure he's just trade bait

Mariners don't value their prospects very much for some reason. They gave away their top prospects in the last calendar year for not much at all. Jaime Garcia is scheduled to pitch tonight for the Braves.

I really don't know why anyone would want to take on that contract
Posted on 7/21/17 at 1:53 pm to WestCoastAg
I'd be so down, he's going to opt out anyways right?
Posted on 7/21/17 at 1:57 pm to UltimateHog
I really don't think he will if things stay the same. He will be opting out of 7/210+ at his age 30 season and I don't see that happening right now
Especially if he keeps having injury issues and if his defense keeps deteriorating
It's not so much the money that gives me pause, it's just the length

Idk everything I've read said he'll opt out. Just depends. This season is putting him back on opt out track.

Sherman: Teams are running "scared" from Britton:
