The Brewers and Yankees have lined up on a minor deal, per Ken Rosenthal (via Twitter). Lefty Tyler Webb is headed to Milwaukee for an as-yet undisclosed return. Webb, 26, made his MLB debut for New York this year after spending spring camp with the Pirates as a Rule 5 pick.
Webb put up 33 1/3 impressive Triple-A innings upon his return to the New York organization, posting 47 strikeouts against just three walks in that span.
Yeah I really don't see the Yankees making a big move this offseason. Maybe selling off a couple of pieces, would like to see them move Gardner for some youth.

Holy hell dan plesac is awful

I would trade betonces. Trading the closer is one of the best things a team can do.

Well Cubs were linked to some high profile arms, just the wrong ones

He is young and under team control a couple of more years... not going anywhere... Maybe Clippard for some parts... wouldn't mind seeing Headley moved to the Red Sox

Yankees got their 1B

12:35pm: Minor-league first baseman Garrett Cooper is heading to New York in the swap, Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports hinted (via Twitter) and Jon Heyman of Fan Rag confirms (in a tweet).
quote:
Cooper, who’s also 26 years of age, has enjoyed quite a productive season thus far in the hitter-friendly environs of Colorado Springs. Through 320 plate appearances on the year, he owns a .366/.428/.652 slash with 17 home runs. That’s a big power jump for the former sixth-round pick, who has also drawn 33 walks against just 48 strikeouts on the year.
Clearly, the right-handed hitter offers an alternative to Greg Bird, who’s injury status has left the team in flux at first base. Whether additional trade targets could still also be pursued isn’t immediately clear, but seemingly remains plausible.

There's an increasing buzz that #Rangers will listen on Yu Darvish and Cole Hamels if team doesn't pick up its play before July 31 deadline.

Holy shite, why haven't I heard of that guy before? I know he's 26 in AAA, but the dude is hitting .366 with 17 homers in 75 games
Posted on 7/13/17 at 12:42 pm to High C
Cole I'm not sure what is going on, doesn't he have like 20 strikouts in 100 innings
Yu would bring a haul, but would they really blow it up with Beltre chasing a ring?

I will be beyond pissed if they don't re-sign Darvish and thus we miss out on Otani as well

If they were really going to blow it up, you'd have to shop Beltre, he may bring back the biggest return
Posted on 7/13/17 at 12:44 pm to texastiger38
Yeah... that is why I can't see them shopping Yu or Cole... no way they blow it up when the majority of the team is young.

The only two I could really see going are Lucroy and Napoli (if he would even fetch anything at this point). You have Hamels for two more seasons and he's pitched well since returning from the injury,
You have a solid young core, plus you re-sign Darvish, it gives you a great shot at Otani, who adds even more to than young core. Darvish needed to be re-signed before this season or at least made progress with it

Colorado Springs is probably the most hitter friendly environment in pro baseball

Lucroy I think gets moved, maybe for a bullpen prospect... But what contenders need help at C/DH/1B since that is where he is limited?
Posted on 7/13/17 at 12:59 pm to tduecen
He could go back to Milwaukee, maybe we could get Brinson back
Boston unless they're truly happy with Vazquez and Leon. The good thing is about two-thirds of the American League still have playoff hopes really

Rangers could send Beltre back to Boston for a haul. But he's going nowhere with the 3,000 hit draw.

If I had a nickel for every different gif that used those Vince reactions I would be a millionaire. And I still don't get tired of them
