Stanton would hit all the HR over that short porch in Houston

I think some of his laser shots wouldn't be high enough for LF sometimes

The Mets will sell at the deadline with an eye towards reloading for 2018, though Joel Sherman of the New York Post wonders if the team should be open to the idea of a larger rebuild. The club will be facing some significant position player losses and a still-shaky rotation next year, so in theory, the Mets could consider moving Jacob deGrom or Noah Syndergaard to totally upgrade the farm system.

“The Dodgers seem like an obvious fit” to acquire J.D. Martinez from the Tigers, Anthony Fenech of the Detroit Free Press writes. The two clubs discussed Martinez last winter, plus the Tigers have an interest in L.A. outfield prospect Alex Verdugo,

The Dodgers are also interested in closer Justin Wilson, who would add another big left-handed arm to the L.A. bullpen. Wilson may be one of the most sought-after arms at the deadline, and given the premium on relief pitching, some believe the Tigers might get more for Wilson than they would for Martinez

Dodgers will make a run at Stanton if he becomes available. Puig would be attractive in a package along with some prospects

Think they would include Joc?

Just saw the yankees are interested in Justin Bour.

Yup and Pradonagain, would be interesting as Bour would cost a decent amount

Should be a very interesting Trade deadline.
Several teams in playoff hunt need pitching, others need a position to be filled by rental or long term, and some are in position to buy and sell.

One thing about adding 2nd WC more teams are in it, which means more teams bidding against each other.
I personally think the deadline should be moved back a couple of weeks.

I would completely empty out my farm and throw in some major league talent for syndergaard

Puig and Cespedes in the same OF would be fun

I think id rather have Martinez. But even then, I would rather get one more guy for the pen
Posted on 7/9/17 at 10:03 am to WestCoastAg
JD and Wilson wonder what it would cost
Posted on 7/9/17 at 10:06 am to tduecen
Top 3 prospect plus a top 15
Posted on 7/9/17 at 10:08 am to WestCoastAg
Tigers wanted Derek Fisher from Astros just for Wilson, you may have to up that

Yeah, trade deadline is becoming more costly it seems.

Braves are 42-44 heading into today with today being the last game before the break. 8.5 back from the Nationals and 7 back in the WC. I think I read something a day or two that the braves are on pace for a 75-79 win season. While I don't expect them to make the playoffs, I do feel that if they keep playing the way they have been playing and get on a nice little streak, they could make a attempt if Washington or one of the current WC teams have a collapse. The offense has been better than expected this year but the pitching still has a lot of voids in not only the starting rotation and bullpen. I think the Braves has some pieces right now that they could sell and it could potentially benefit them this year but most importantly next year. I think the Braves right now have some value in Adams, Phillips, and Kemp. I think Teheran has value but not last year. The plus about Teheran is that he has a very friendly contract for the next 2 or 3 years. I think if he was traded to another team with a good pitching rotation, then he prob. would be the 4th or 5th starter. Garcia, Johnson, Suzuki or Flowers has a little value but I don't think enough to bring in anything very valuable. I would hope that the Braves sell before the deadline to strengthen a possible run in 2018. They are close to being a potential playoff team but needs a couple of key pieces to get there.
