I think that the NCAA views cheating that directly impacts the outcome of games far more harshly than a silly recruiting violation where you call a player during black out period etc.
They gave them a chance to self punish & Michigan told them to F off.
If the NCAA has receipts I think they drop the hammer.
Kind of like when Pete Rose bet on baseball.
Using a corked bat will get you punished.
Betting on the game is a Cardinal Sin.

I think the coaches in the B1G were most pissed off. I think they’ll want more than the NCAA.
Can call it jealousy but if what they did is deemed cheating or however far you want to go, it impacted hundreds of student athletes at the other schools in a negative manner
I'm honestly shocked that what they're accused of doing is considered cheating as far as I know teams have in-game scouted their opponents since the idea first existed and no one batted an eye. Was considered a sign that you're doing your due diligence as a program, the whole outcry is ridiculous to me. Hope Michigan challenges the hell out of this shite.

The other coaches probably aren’t happy Michigan broke certain rules, and that impacted them and their players.
However, they are pissed about Michigan breaking some of the “unwritten” rules in the coaching fraternity.

I do love Ohio state fan fiction. It’s some of the best

NCAA aint doing shite. Ypu can openly pay players and recruit kids off other rosters during the season legally.
Unless they are licking the baseball bats and jagging kids in the arse with them, nothing will come of this.

I'd love to see the NCAA nuke Michigan, then a gaggle of Fox lawyers jump in and say "Like hell you will. We're paying a goddamn fortune to show Michigan-Ohio State, Michigan-Penn State, Michigan-Oregon, Michigan-USC. You aren't messing with that"

It's not illegal to outsource your in-game scouting to 3rd parties, this whole melt over Michigan is stupid, jealous sour grapes
Of course it's not illegal. But neither was paying players or selling team gear, rings, etc. or recruit against the rules. None of that is illegal

nothing will happen and if it did they would appeal and it would take a year or two and by then they would negotiate out of court.

Kirk barton and nevada buck are clowns. They burned every connection they actually had but still try to larp as insiders. If these guys are saying something you can probably guess the opposite is true.

Michigan's transgressions were pretty egregious.
And the NCAA doesn't like it when you tell them to F off, while flaunting your cheating.
Were their transgressions and flaunting of breaking rules worse than Tressell/tattoo gate at OSU? Iirc, they got a slap on the wrist and straight up lied to the NCAA and got caught for that too. Imo, what OSU was doing, pay for play in a time where it wasn't legal, is a greater transgression than preadvanced scouting.

Players were trading their own property for tattoos. I'd love to hear how that amounts to being paid to play or leads to any kind of competitive advantage on the football field.

LOL. Nevadabuck is known to be full of shite. Even their own fanbase hated him when he used to run things on the OSU scout site.

No they're not. How many times have we heard this about major programs and then not jack squat happens.

Nukes by the NCAA died with the outcry and the rolls eyes of the USC decisions.
Fans thought it was preposterous and draconian and people don't care anymore what the NCAA says....they're a paper Tiger.
Not sure how anyone doesn't see this. The NCAA has been worthless for a very long time, but the last ten years, coupled with NIL and everything else, has proven just how worthless they are. Willard's line about speeding tickets in Apocalypse Now comes to mind.

Not disagreeing, but left wondering….what can the ncaa do in today’s environment if a school like much tells them to F off??
Just don’t know the penalty power they have left to where it doesn’t kick off some response from espn and other big programs. Especially in an era where schools are breaking their programs off to their own biz entities.

They did suspend Sherone Moore for two games which will be played against CMU and Nebraska. They are allowing him to coach for the game against Oklahoma. He played for OU.
