Jalen Hurts was a freshman in 2016 when he became starter, and Tua ended up winning the NC in 2017 as a freshman (but wasn't starter)

So that’s 2 in 4-5 years….

My point is that everyone believes that so many true freshmen come in and light the place up every year and it’s the farthest from the truth.

Agreed completely. It's very rare a school even ends up with a freshman starter, and even more rare that he ends up doing well.

Even Kelly Bryant started over Lawerence
Leak over Tebow
None of the OU QB were Freshman Rattler RS as did Williams

Most that start as Fr end up like Tyrone Swoopes or Reggie Ball

You serious? Hurts, Lawrence, and Ohio State won the CFP when Cardale Jones was 3rd string and had never even played before. Our QBs have been trash outside of Mett and of course Burrow.

You just named three over a decade……

You obviously missed the point.

If everyone had said QB #1, QB #7, and QB #16, we might still have an NCAA football

Literally all they had to do was not make the numbers match whom they were modeling the players after

fricking Ryan Perrilloux and his fake ID has screwed up the QB situation at LSU for almost a decade and a half now.

What does Ryan Perrilloux have to do with 2021 LSU?

Wasn’t last night Nuss’s first ever start? And it was vs an SEC West rival.

Some of you LSU fans need to either understand football and reality, or take a vacation.

They’re really brutal on quarterbacks. Nuss wasn’t incredible but he was fine other than one really bad pass. Last year they hammered on TJ Finley who I thought was pretty solid for a true freshman.

Young and Stroud are both 2nd year program players.
The OP specifically says Freshman and Sophomore QBs.

Who else?
Tua was a sophomore QB who put up 43 TDs and 6 INTs.

Lawrence was a sophomore QB who put up 36 TDs and 8 INTs.

Those guys at Alabama and OSU are the exception not the rule.

These schools have been able to do it multiple times with multiple young QBs over the past few seasons.

Ohio State is starting a Freshman and Bryce Young is a Sophomore and are gonna be Heisman finalists, whereas Max and Nuss suck serious fricking arse for LSU.

Stroud is throwing to 3 1st round WRs, has a 1st round RB, several 1st round tackles protecting him, and an elite TE.

Obviously Day's offense helps, but Ohio State is elite all over the field on offense.

He didn’t start , he went in for the fourth series ,I think.
Max was decent earlier in the year and Brennan good last year when healthy.

Qb play is still waaaay better than under miles
