I know we talk about the quirky parts of youth baseball on here. However, a local group (Ascension Parish) is in the Southwest Regional on ESPN. They playing in Waco, Texas. They are 2 wins away from the Little League World Series in Williamsport. They play Oklahoma Sunday at 3:00pm on the main ESPN station.

Is this the real World Series or the Double Gold Silver Red World Series of Lower East North World Series?
Can never tell these days

The real deal I think. They play on the ESPN at 3:00. Travelball dont get on that!

Because ESPN can’t afford the licensing fee

They're good. Eastbank beat them twice in district, but Ascension beat Eastbank twice in state to advance to regionals. Ascension should have all of their pitching available for Sunday, but Oklahoma may be in the same boat.
ETA: Ascension didn't beat Eastbank twice. Kid for Lafayette shut Eastbank down, too.

Must be a down year in the state if Eastbank isn't representing LA.

Eastbank shite the bed They were supposed to walk in to the World Series, that’s how good their team was.

Did the parents beg for money on Facebook to get a free trip?

Ehh, Eastbank was good. But very top heavy and they mismanaged the pitching a bit in state. I don't think they put together the best roster they could have either. Ascension didn't really show their guns in district then came guns blazing in state. Either team would have showed well in regionals, but Ascension out slicked them.

Looks like they beat Mississippi 2-0.

Yep. No hitter and damn near a perfect game between 3 kids, and they have pitching left.

AP’s best guy will not be available on Sunday. He threw over 50 today.

The key in this tourney is make the finals. One game Championship no matter who is undefeated. Oklahoma had a game today but had 2 byes.

Saw Louisiana has two former LSU Eunice National Champions as their coaches. Pretty cool!

Always a team of talented travel ball kids that wanted to go chase tv clout but never the hands down best talent from the state

All of these kids play majors level travel ball. But Little League is a totally different game without baserunners taking leads. Size and power really matters when you can’t force errors.

Ok…which little league teams from their area are you referring to? They played all of the little league teams in their area through district and state, and won state to qualify for the Southwest regional in Waco. So, please enlighten us.
