Dixie Youth was long ago. It’s called Diamond now. Guess they had to take Dixie out the name. Still DYB! Little League and s way more competitive.

Saw Louisiana has two former LSU Eunice National Champions as their coaches. Pretty cool!

The key in this tourney is make the finals. One game Championship no matter who is undefeated. Oklahoma had a game today but had 2 byes.

I know we talk about the quirky parts of youth baseball on here. However, a local group (Ascension Parish) is in the Southwest Regional on ESPN. They playing in Waco, Texas. They are 2 wins away from the Little League World Series in Williamsport. They play Oklahoma Sunday at 3:00pm on the main ESPN station.

Saw this morning that Ascension Parish won the Boys Little League State. Beat talented Eastbank and Lafayette teams. Saw they have Tulsa boys in Waco in their bracket!

Crazy stuff here. They are letting the same AD hire the next coach. He hired the current guy who was 10 and 80. Bill Dailey, who lives in Ascension Parish, would love the job and would do well, but the AD says he has not coached in years and will not hire him. Lame excuse! Bill has gotten endorsements from Coach Bertman, Ryan Theriot and others for the position. Bill could change the culture there with his ideas and love of the game.

Yes but yesterday we take out a pitcher that the dawgs could not hit and put in pitchers who have proven they could not succeed.

USSSA Bats should be banned in travel ball. USA Bats should be used. If a kid cannot play the game using a USA bats, then he should play REC Ball, which is essentially 90% of the AA players and 50% of the AAA players that play travel. USSSA bats cover up a lot of hitters flaws. BBCOR at 13 is also a good idea.

Why do we throw 65 to 70% off speed pitches when we have almost every pitcher on our team that can pitch at 93 mph or harder? Seemed like if we are going to do that we need more finesse pitching.
