LeBron's top tier agent, Rich Paul, goes after Jordan and his brand

Also interesting hes opening his mouth about this because they're both Nike lifetime deals.
Is Rich trying to minimize MJ with this comment?
Another question - how the hell is this guy an NBA agent?

Who exactly is rich paul? Why the eff should I care about his opinion on Jordan shoes? Michael was the GOAT and I trust his opinion on what shoes made him great over Lebums!

Never heard that theory before. I guess the Gatorade commercials were just based off rumor. Rich Paul is an idiot. He’d be selling Js at Footlocker if it wasn’t for bron.

I can’t get past the simple fact that he didn’t realize the contradiction within the first two sentences. One of Jordan’s best attributes while he was younger was him simply not trying to be the smartest man. He understood he’s greatness was wrapped in the sport and not in his perceived intelligence.

Im sure he is. Hes kind of invested heavily in LeBron.
And hes not entirely wrong about the shoe. They are a significant "status" symbol in the urban community. Haves and have nots. They are an essential to every "haves" wardrobe. Making what hes saying practically the truth. Kids now, for sure, aren't wearing Jordan's due to Jordan. They didnt witness him or the shoes rise to the status they've been at the past 30 years. Half of them have no idea who he is as a human or athlete. Just a shoe.
You could argue that there hasn't ever been a more significant shoe ever made. It's rise and early popularity had everything to do with Micheal Jordan the basketball player. As with everything, time changes perception and reality. The realities are, today, most Jordan wearers could care less about Jordan the basketball player and that without Jordan the basketball player, the Jordan shoe wouldnt exist or be the symbol they are today.

So half of the people wanted to be like Mike, and the other half wanted to be like the people that wanted to be like Mike? Got it.
I love living in a country where even the dumbest among us can become millionaires.

It sucks that LeBron found this clown hocking illegal jerseys out of thr back of his trunk and decided, hey, I should make him my agent.

This is a silly point to make regardless of which point you agree with lol.
"gatorade made a commercial that coined the "be like Mike" phrase so its true"

Seems like he’s pretty low IQ so it’s fitting that he’s LeFlop’s agent.

Their legacy is crumbling

He's full of shite. I bought the original Jordan's as a freshman in high school back in 1996, because I liked Michael Jordan.

15 year olds who want Jordan's now don't want them because they are/were in awe of MJ.
They want them because of a perceived status of having the newest XYZ. Jordan's have long gone past Michael Jordans basketball career and can essentially stand alone by themselves.
I assume that's the point he intends to make.

Without Mike and his J’s Nike as a company would look completely different or maybe even be non existent. The sports apparel market that Nike helped usher in would probably look completely different as well. The signature shoe deals that tens of thousands of athletes have cashed in on exist because the success of the J’s. It created a viable market for a premium signature athletic shoe. LeBron has a lifetime contract with Nike because MJ made it possible.
