Except as already posted: 4.3% of Tuas 5 to 28 yard passes to open receivers were uncatchable. 18% of Herberts were uncatchable. Tua gets a bunch of shite for throwing a bunch of 5 yard slants that turn into big plays because he has stud WRs. Herbert struggles to even complete a 5 yard slant.

let me preface with I think Tua is a great QB and doesn't just dink and dunk... having said that UHHHHH WHAT...? What are you talking about man? What does dinking and dunking have to do with THE % OF PASSES THAT WERE UNCATCHABLE FROM 5 TO 28 YARDS?????? So he's accurate from the mid range... nice. But that doesn't change the fact that he throws a lot of short slants and screens. a percentage of catchable or uncatchable balls literally says NOTHING about the AMOUNT one throws to a certain area.

like its a good stat... but entirely irrelevant to the argument you are trying to make

Yeah, it's crazy that LSU fans compare the QB with the best season in NCAA history to QBs were who were really good in the NFL.

Oregon plays crap defenses with a high octane offense usually.

as opposed the rock solid Big XII defenses and slow paced offence Mahomes faced and ran

Also doesn't Stanford play the same defenses as Oregon? Curious that Stanford QB's have done well

Doubt he goes number 1 in that draft if it were anyone but the Raiders

Disclaimer: I absolutely love Burrow and think he’s the best QB prospect since Luck. I just laugh at how every LSU fan in compares him to some top 10 QB in the NFL history in every comparison they make.

What I compared them for is nothing about Joe being as good as those guys ever will. I compared their personality and characteristic traits. Same for Tua. I said he reminds me of Russell Wilson. Us LSU fans got to see a lot about Joe this past year and I don’t think it’s crazy to compare their determination or work ethic.

Who should I have attempted to compare him to Billy Joe Hobert??? Fans tend to watch their favorite teams and follow them. Yes, Burrow reminds me of Brees because people that know and see him see that drive in him to be perfect. Burrow won’t settle for losing. He may not ever win a game but he has the right attitude.
Again...that is just my opinion.

Did you watch the video? He clearly shows Herbert has a taste to ignore CBs and throw right to them.

Reminds me of Tannehill. Every physical tool you could want, just leaves you scratching your head why he isn’t better. A more experienced, probably healthier Tannehill is worth a top 10 pick, just doesn’t excite anyone.

Herbert is a perfect pick to be a Jaguar. They reach on the pick in a desperate attempt to fix their QB issues while the rest of the world laughs. The cycle repeats itself.

Think you may be onto something here. Bortles threw an insane amount of screen passes his last year at UCF too.

Appears to be single. Maybe he is a better decision maker than we thought.

Tua’s personality can work like Russell Wilson makes his work. I admit I don’t know much about his leadership style

People seem to compare Tua to Brees a good bit but I don’t see it. Tua compares to Russell Wilson to me.
Joe Burrow compares to a Drew Brees, Peyton Manning type leadership style.

Eh, I think people are a little hard on Herbert around here.

As a soph, he had a 67.5 completion % with 9.6 YPA. He was 66.8 and 8.1 this year, with the 8.1 probably a result of more screens.

For comparison, Burrow's YPA was 7.9 as a junior and 10.6 as a senior.

I don't think he's a guarantee, but it's not as bad as a lot here are making it out to be. He's never had more than 8 picks in a season as a 4 year starter. He clearly has the tools, and I think some of his failings are overblown.

Then wouldn’t it be “Reminds of Bortles Herbert does”?

What does any of this have to do with their personalities?
