If Tua can be praised for dink passes, so can Herbert.

Out of curiosity though, how was Oregon’s vertical threat?

Screens in college are called from upstairs. It’s not like Herbert was audibling at the line.

Also, I find this hilarious given the prevalence of the screen game in the collegiate offense.

the problem also is he doesn't appear to be a leader-type so it's not likely he can be another Josh Allen

if you're willing to lay it out every week, the NFL can likely figure something out. Herbert seems to not have that dog in him

if you watch the video he discusses how the UO coaches likely hid him with screens

Is that true? Not doubting you, I just find it somewhat surprising. I know he's a very driven kid personally and very, very smart.

Are you saying he doesn't have that "take a game by the balls in the final 2 minutes" character trait that only select few QBs have? (And that Burrow and Tua both have)

Tua has a ton of deep throws on his tape.

Albeit to wide open WRs, but he can only execute what is in front of him.

no i'm saying foobaw isn't his primary interest in life and he's not the type to get fricking murdered running it 10+ times in the NFL every week

he's an aloof smart guy who just has "golden ticket" level physical skills

Story from 2018

There are also those scouts, who did not want to be named, who say Herbert is "soft" or "immature" or "quirky, not really a leader of men."

He's never left the comfortable confines of Eugene, OR.

also you have to put it into the context of the post. i said he could be a Josh Allen except for that

b/c they both have major issues with accuracy and reading defenses, but they both have laser arms and lots of mobility

Josh Allen makes it work by being Cam-lite, so i was assuming Herbert would have to as well. i doubt he has that kind of dog in him

Love seems pretty comparable to Allen but perhaps a worse athlete

Herbert does have great hair, that should be a factor.

Any examples?

Not trying to be a biased Ducks fan here but Herbert is the opposite imo.

Non-existent.

I don't trust anyone's evaluation of QBs; we have had guys destined for greatness taken #1 who are gone in 5 years and guys who are 3rd rounders or later who are perennial pro bowlers.
