I know that's what they are saying but that usually very optimistic for football. I doubt you see him until at least mid-October at best.

And he wasn’t sharp. Daniels only threw three passes as well, but looked better. That takes him out of the running of the statement I made which was that McCarthy looked the best in the first weekend.

Doesn’t mean he is the best or will be the best. Not everything has to be a grand statement. Judging just off of one weekend with minimal stats, I thought McCarthy looked the best, especially considering his age in comparison to the other rookies.

Well you started with “looked like crap” so that’s a much different statement. But again he played 1 series and went 2/3 when passing throwing to backups. Not sure what exactly he was supposed to do there

He had terrible conditions. Joe Milton looked good but he isn’t fooling anyone who watched him play in college. CJ Stroud looked like dogshit in his one drive of preseason game one last year.

Once again, my point was on how good McCarthy looked this weekend. Out of the rookie QBs that played this weekend, he looked the best. Doesn’t mean the other guys suck. Doesn’t mean they all had the same opportunities.

It’s especially notable because of the criticism he got on this board. He came out and looked basically as good as he could have.

Depends on the extent of the tear and the surgical procedure used, debridement vs full repair

Djok came back in like 2 weeks playing tennis. Shouldn’t this only be 5-10 days for a QB? I would think the cutting and such of a tennis player is far more than a QB

Obviously football players get hit but for ligament damage wouldn’t the stress from starting and stopping be the greater concern?

The point remains. In 20 years that was the only time he was injured

he also broke his foot in 2010. The difference with Brady is he played through almost all of the injuries he had and waited until the offseason to have surgery

Brady is also kind of a unicorn, too, with his longevity. Much of that is a combination of good genetics, training, and blind luck.

I don't think there is some secret playbook to never get hurt and play football into your mid 40s. A ton of these injuries are no contact injuries, so it's not just a matter of protecting themselves from big hits.

Probably a result of overuse in the preseason game. He threw 17 passes!!!! That was like 3 games worth of passes at Michigan.

Blame the Vikings for thinking he could handle that type of workload in his very first game.

I’d say Daniels made the most beautiful throw on the long ball completion and then continuing where he left off at LSU by running it in for a TD.

I believe Daniels is going to be special if he can stay healthy.

It depends on what they decide to do when they get in there. If they decide to repair, which is more likely, he’s looking at around 3+ months. If they decide to trim then he’s probably out 3+ weeks.
