The Browns have sent Jadeveon Clowney home ahead of Sunday's season finale vs. Steelers

Clowney earlier this week: "95% sure I won't be back with Cleveland next season."
quote:

DE coach Chris Kiffin confirms that Clowney refused to play on first or second down vs. Baltimore. Kiffin could only get him to play on third downs. Clowney told Kiffin then it was due to injury. Kiffin says he now realizes that injury wasn't the reason.
quote:

Myles Garrett, on Clowney saying the #Browns??? are more concerned with getting Garrett in the hall of fame than winning games:
quote:

Myles Garrett on Jadeveon Clowney's comments that he got favorable matchups despite Garrett being double-teamed at one of the highest rates.

"It's a little confusing but we could have had clarity if he had just talked to us."
quote:

Garrett on whether he’d welcome Clowney back. “I want volunteers not hostages…”
quote:

Kiffin said he addressed Clowney comments in front of the position group this morning. Clowney was in the room. Kiffin said he told them he "totally disagreed" with the way Clowney handled the situation. Clowney's response? Kiffin: He didn't say anything.

It’s funny that the Browns sucked, got Baker Mayfield and didn’t suck as much, got rid of him and now they’re headed back to being a joke. I’m not stanning for Baker but that they thought he was holding them back from some bright future.

They are 3-2 and had Jacoby Brissett at QB most of the season. It's not like they are 7-9 with Watson at the helm, he starts the full season they are over .500

We’ll see. Dysfunction on defense and a serial sex offender at qb. Sounds like the culture is air tight.

That’s a little extra

He definitely hasn’t lived up to any of his hype but he can play in this league.

Unless he attitudes his way out of it.

He has made a lot of money for an edge rusher who has never had double digit sacks, doesn't force fumbles, or really just lives of the hype

Crazy to think they could've started the season 3-0 with Brissett had they not had the last minute meltdown against the Jets.

If Stefanski would stop getting cute in short-yardage situations (like going 5-wide with Chubb on the sideline), and the defense would show up every week (Joe Woods should be gone as DC), the Browns could actually win some of their close losses, and be a good team.

What?

He underperformed but wasn’t he pretty damn solid for years?

Especially against the run..?

He’s been taking plays off for most of his career. That’s why he’s on his fourth team and only lasted a year with the Seahawks and Titans.

The hit against Meat Chicken has kept him in the NFL for far too long.

Was going to say the sane thing. ESPN played that clip over and over. Just like they did with Manziel with the TD pass against Alabama. Which won him the Heisman and 1st round pick

Here’s the thing though…they’re BOTH overrated. Myles Garrett gets his one sack a game and that’s it. As a life long diehard Browns fan, it’s beyond frustrating to watch Browns games and forget Garrett even plays for the team. He goes MIA for the whole game and then boom…gets his one sack…and at the end of the year everybody looks up and sees that he has 17 sacks. But the devil is in the details. Myles Garrett was removed from practice and benched for a qtr…just two weeks ago…where is that thread??? Myles Garrett is simply NOT a difference maker on defense. Is he a good pass rusher…sure…but is he a difference maker…absolutely not!!! The Browns defense absolutely sucks WITH him. In my honest opinion, the Browns should trade him and get some draft picks back that they lost in the Watson deal. The D coordinator is going to be fired and a lot of players won’t be back. It’s been a disaster. This situation with Clowney just puts the nail in the coffin. Total dysfunction.

Manziel won the Heisman b/c he threw for 3,706 yards on 68% passing w/26 TDs and 9 ints and ran for 1,410 yards on 201 carries for 21 TDs and led an A&M team damn near everyone said was going to have a losing record in the big bad old SEC for several years to 10-2.

He was drafted in the first round b/c he then upped his passing to 4,114 yards on 69.9% and 37 TDs w/13 ints.

He didn't last b/c he was too into partying and didn't take the game seriously until it was way too late. It was never a talent issue w/him.
