Well they are all being paid $millions$, I would work my arse off practicing FTs to have that gig.
Even some of the notoriously bad FT shooters like Dwight Howard, shoot very well in practice. Practice is not always the issue, it’s a mental block like the yips for some

MSB where I stop for my daily dose of delusion.

FTs aren't the only part of the job though. If your job requires 8 different skills and you score 90%+ in 7 of the skills and 70% in the other skill, then that's a pretty damn good employee. When you can score, block shots, rebound, and protect/attack the paint the way Shaq and Wilt could, you're more forgiving of the lack of FT prowess. Sure it would be great if they had been better at it but they simply weren't. Still all time great legends because they were unstoppable forces of nature.
If an NBA game was simply just a free throw contest then your dumb analogy might hold weight

We get it, you don’t typically watch basketball nor have you ever played.

You'd be in the weatherman hall of fame with numbers this good.

So by your arm chair reasoning, it’s ok for WNBA players to only average 30% at the line because they make considerably less than the men.
I think you would be surprised at how much professionals practice.

This is like firing your best salesman bc he submits his gas receipts a day late

What an absolutely moronic take lol

I'm saying they should be able to shoot the ball in a very high rate when 90% games come down to a FT.
Are you saying 90% of nba games are decided by 1 point? Lol

Downvote away like the MSB does
Maybe you get downvoted so much because you have some pretty awful takes sometimes. This is one of them.

Sorry Jordan but you didn’t make the cut. You only shot 83.5% from the FT line with your bouncy ball. You are being let go.

One might argue he could have 1 more because of Nick Anderson's poor FT shooting.
They got swept

quote:70% and you might have got some takers but 90%? Reggie Miller, Ray Allen and Dirk Nowitzki were all under 90%. Anything over 85% is elite.
but if you can’t hit FT in the NBA at 85-90% you shouldn’t be playing

Nobody should ever miss a shot because the basket is twice as wide as the ball.

Michael Jordan shot 85% or better from the FT line in 3 of his 15 seasons.
86-87: 85.7%
88-89: 85.0%
90-91: 85.1%
So he should have played only those seasons, and at a minimum, been riding the bench all the rest. I agree.

I’ve started this thread before, but if you can’t hit FT in the NBA at 85-90%
trivia for you.
in the entire history of the NBA/ABA, only 70 (of qualifying) people have a career FT% above 85%
not 70 current players.
70 total in the entire history of the league.

which is piss poor for someone making millions of dollars to shoot a ball in hoop.
Says who?
Shooting 70% or better under nba game conditions is something only a tiny handful of people on earth can do.

I wonder if OP watches a golf tournament and thinks they all suck for not shooting 15 under every round.
