So aren't Las Vegas and Seattle locks for a team? Would both cities have to build a new arena? Or are the NHL arenas there good enough to share?

A private group is building another arena in Las Vegas. Sea would use the Kraken arena.

For how long? The amount of dates to fill the stadium in MLB is immense. It would be a tossup for me to go to an A’s game when I go to Vegas if they were a good club, probably an easy pass in the state they are in now

Nevada legislature has approved the stadium bill. The governor will sign it.

Only MLB owners' approval is needed now.

sucks because it's not for the fans. It's so MLB and the owners can make more money. I watched the reverse boycott game last night...mainly because Hogan Harris is from lafayette, but those fans were awesome. Felt like a playoff game. It's not about the fans, it's about money.

gee, I wonder what would happen if the fans had that same attitude before abandoning their franchise

Imagine what locals feel about losing a classic/iconic resort where their grandparents, parents, friends, etc. worked, gambled, partied, ate, etc. It's a whole different upset. This is why the locals are upset about the A's.

Most of all the original places are long gone, I can't imagine the locals are that mad over the Tropicana. Doubt anyone 70 or under care.

ou don’t need to a big local fan base because the games will be packed by visiting team every game since the city itself is a big, cheap destination

This isn’t football where teams play the raiders once every 4 years away and make the trip to Vegas. You think 10s of thousands of away fans are making the trip several times a year mid week to see a baseball game?

Yep. Now , it’s $350/night and the buffet is $100 a person.

Then they would still be watching the same minor league team stuck in the same shitty stadium while paying double for the same tickets that they had before. So have fun with the same disgrace of an owner Las Vegas.

The main reason nobody here wants the A’s is because they suck and aren’t the Dodgers. Second to that, putting an MLB park basically caddy corner to T-Mobile will be a traffic nightmare anytime events are happening at the same time. There’s a ton of much cheaper land that’s not on the strip that you could build a ballpark on that would entice people to go, but we already don’t like going down to the strip unless we have to because it’s too congested.

The $380 million tax dollars aren’t even an issue to us because like with the Raiders, you all will be paying the extra taxes when you come out here and stay in the hotels, it’s not coming out of our pockets.

Cheap destination?? Vegas is super expensive now They came out of COVID and stuck it up tourists asses. So many new fees and prices not dropping like usual Even flights are asinine.

Yeah you couldn’t pay me to go there now. It was ok to go when I was younger once or twice but we have casinos in south Florida.

Always thought the place kinda sucked and was full of try hards.

Vegas has quickly become a hockey town

Noticed this in 2021. There are more golden knight plates on cars in that city than any other "hockey town" I've ever been to.

Buffalo is the ultimate small fan town for football. Sorry NOLA.
