The U.S. is totally outclassed so far. Midfield was non-existent, and we were technically poor. Trapping, passing, terrible all around.

well at least now we don't have to care about foosball for until 2030.

This is the worst Belgium has cucked another country since the rape of the Congo

Or worry about Spain completely destroying us.

Goalies can't use hands outside penalty box

Wasn't Mia Hamm, it was Brandi Chastain

Lollygagging the first half. Belgium's defense has stopped most accurate passes and the US has made way too many inaccurate passes.
Sucks, but we were outplayed.

Where's Fun Bunch to tell me loss to Turkey was a fluke?

It’s soccer. Who gives a shite about that boring arse sport. I’d rather watch an 80 year old woman sow a quilt than watch a game of soccer.

Well would have been better off if Trump hadnt interfered and gotten the suspension reversed
because at least then we could have blamed it on that

It's just you (not shocking considering who you are)
America's World Cup spectacle smashes expectations

The 2026 FIFA World Cup is delivering a masterclass in global monoculture, stacking blockbuster ratings, on-field theatrics and a superstar race for soccer immortality.
Why it matters: Skeptics spent months bracing for the World Cup to collide with a polarized, parochial and priced-out American public. The tournament has answered back with the largest U.S. viewing audiences in soccer history.
quote:
USA–Belgium in the round of 16 drew a final combined audience of 50.1 million viewers on Fox and Telemundo — the largest soccer audience ever recorded in the U.S., even in a 4–1 blowout loss.
Mexico–England turned Estadio Azteca into a crucible of noise and nerves, as 80,000 fans nearly roared the home team to an upset before England escaped 3–2. The spectacle pulled in 46.7 million U.S. viewers.

Fox says these were the most-watched non-NFL sports events in the U.S. since the 1994 Winter Olympics.

I keep seeing this reference to 1994 Lillehammer. This was my prime adolescence years. What made it such a must watch? The Tonya Harding thing couldnt be the sole reason so many watched and record stood for 30 years.
What were other storylines for the '94 Winter Games?

TV really became more dissected after 1994. More options so numbers continued to drop.

When you see big numbers like that, it’s usually women who made them that big… those were events that got into popular culture and transcended sports

Tonya Harding and Dan Jansen were going for the elusive gold medal after all the falls, and he announced his retirement.
