Well, Goodell is stupid. I'm surprised he hasn't all ready ran this joke of a league into the ground.

All sports have an officiating problem.

I've done this with Saints games for years to avoid being pissed off for 3 hours.

When I watch a game, I have to sit through 4+ hours of commercials and paid schills to get 60 minutes of football. I'm over spending that much time watching anyone but Ohio State.

Occasionally, I'll put Penn State or Northwestern games on while I do something else, but my interest is passive at best.

I don’t understand this.

You don’t understand how professionalizing intercollegiate athletics would turn off fans of intercollegiate sports?

Not really, tbh. I thought this year was really fun on the field

I have reached the point I watch only my team play and could not care less about others.

Agreed, the games are just too long now. It takes too long to watch any form of a playoff game especially. It’s ridiculous the amount of TV timeouts. I just can’t sit there for that long.

What do you think about the rumors of PSU trying to go for Knowles? I'd love it but it's a stretch to imagine why he'd leave you guys for us.

ESPN didn’t do a good enough job marketing the game.

One could argue that ESPN is exactly the reason for the decline and it has nothing to do with marketing.

Wait til the regular season rating start tanking because people figure out the games don’t matter anymore.

We’ve killed the golden goose. Let me rephrase that. The sports media killed the golden goose. When you started allowing ESPN to actively campaign for rankings because of preferred matchups, then years later started talking about “eye tests”, and then culminating in telling an unbeaten 13-0 team they couldn’t play for a championship because one guy got hurt in what was effectively a meaningless game that’s only there for money and ratings, this is what you get.

The behavior of espn for the last 20 years is what brought us here. And I don’t think any of us will be happy with it in 5 years.

I used to think that more football was better. Now, I wish college football ended on January 1. What a great day that used to be for college football. Same with the NFL. Super Bowl should be the last Sunday in January. Football close to Valentine's Day is way too long. I'm ready for baseball at that point. Speaking of baseball, I don't mind more teams in the playoffs, but the World Series needs to end by Halloween. November baseball is way too long.

College football has a PR issue, many fan bases that were already playing against a stacked deck, the odds got even worse for them with NIL. Of course nationwide interest is waning

The NFL is stretching itself too thin and thinks its audience won’t care because frick it MOAR FOOTBALL… Sundays used to seem like a weekly great buffet of football. Now between TNF, SNF, Monday night double headers, and byes…Sunday afternoons can kind of feel like just filler you can casually watch, it’s also made the redzone channel much less fun.

I really wish they’d either schedule teams byes around TNF to make that product better or instead of staggered byes, have two weeks of byes midseason, one half the league gets off 1 week, the other half the next. Getting your bye week 15 weeks into the year is asinine, so is your bye 4 weeks into the year
