If things stand as they are with the schedule, ND almost certainly should not get in with two losses. I guess either BYU or SMU going 12-0 would be a slight notch up from "things standing as they are" though, but still. Maybe if SMU plays Miami in the ACCCG and BYU wins the Big 12, 10-2 would be justifiable to get in, but hard to see that happening.

Realistically who can they play? Nobody in the Power 4 want to schedule tough out of conference games anymore.
The issue isn’t ND. It’s other teams not wanting to risk a loss by playing them out of their conference

Sure you have a good schedule but if you lose to Clemson... it will be the end of the world again like 2020-2024 and the Lane honeymoon will be over. ND fans will enjoy season til probably January. Don't hate the player, hate the game...

Has there been any talk about Jaylon Domingeaux during camp? He was very good at SLU with mid-QB play throwing him the ball and terrible play calling. Sucks his intro for Wisconsin is going to be against ND's secondary.

They’re ranked because we can’t rank the G5 teams we used to… being ranked isn’t really that impressive these days if we shrink the field from 136 to like 70 now that can assemble that type of talent

The FBS , or whatever you call the plethora of colleges, really needs to subdivide into 2 or more divisions, based on skill/talent level, and play games only within your grouping.
Just too many schools and possibilities of scheduling imbalances as these.
Trimto the top 50 or so teams and allow them to only play within your level.

And that's the reason Notre Dame gets ranked so high during the regular season and when they play a team with a heartbeat in the post season they usually get blown out. If they had to play an SEC schedule, they wouldn't be ranked in the top 25 much less top 10 most years.

They’re not doing that so ESPN and Fox have to do so…

Huh?
The final AP poll last season had North Texas, Tulane, Navy, and James Madison in the top 25
Historically it looks like there were usually 4-6 G5 teams ranked at the end of the season. But that's also before the latest conference realignment that had the Big 12 and Big 10 absorb almost the entire PAC-12 plus the ACC and Big 12 adding most of the G5 programs that were worth a damn. So there's more schools in P4 conferences now than there were even with it was P5
