They will not leave. They have had ample opportunities to leave and have not.

They can’t even begin to get on the same page
The smaller schools are still pissed about having ECA and JC crammed down their throats 2004 thru 2012

Seems like Louisiana is staying in Phase 2. Will the LHSAA have the balls to move forward and play? The clock is ticking.

LHSAA is a political entity. They won’t.

Not a chance. JBE will kill fall football today(or in the next few days) when he keeps us out of Phase 3.
The LHSAA needs to step up and say start practicing, because the October day we gave yall is not changing. If they don't do this and continue to fall in line with JBE then those kids will suffer due to political reasons.
LSU will be treated just like the casinos, yet high schools will be treated like the bars.

I was under the impression that they didn’t have any choice but to fall in line with JBE.

Their plan was built on the assumption that JBE was going to move us through the phases based on facts and logic, not whatever he is doing now.
They can change amend their plan, just like the Louisiana competitive soccer association did. They changed their's to allow out of state play and loosened up on the practice restrictions. If we are not in Phase 3 in October, I can see them changing theirs again to allow play. To the state soccer and football are the same.
There is nothing stopping the LHSAA from easing practice restrictions and even games other than themselves.

Yes. Time for LHSAA to do the right thing and let’s these kids play

It makes zero sense that high school sports have to suffer because of Edwards’ feelings about bars.
Either he acknowledges that and lets high school sports move forward or LHSAA needs to make that decision themselves.
The numbers in Louisiana are down. We fit the criteria.

This is a great analogy.

you have to remember the LHSAA is a principal run organization. and there are some principals that do not want football to start for several reasons... and some school boards/systems may balk as well. The LHSAA guidelines out there currently are about as permissive as they can be.

I mean, we’re talking about high school kids, they probably shouldn’t be allowed to make important decisions.

Minors vs adults is kind of a big distinction in allowing decisions

The LHSAA doesn’t pay a single coach. No matter what they want to allow, the state will ultimately make the choice to let us play or not.

Edwards said he’s leaning towards sticking with phase 2 according to Nola.com. Goodbye football.
