Oh definitely not. I am curious how hard it’s checked if they’ve even done what’s required to this point which is still a fraction of what is owed overall

The closest they came to that was with Colangelo and the Dbacks in the early 2000s which made them, supposedly, put more checks and audits on the escrow of it all but they still dont seemingly do a lot of checks on how exactly its being paid for and as long as you can show baseball that you have the money on paper, they don't really do too much to "check" so in theory, this is the exact situation that can make it all collapse

No. It's going to take awhile, but Walter is going to get in a lot of trouble for this. The SEC and FBI and whoever else is investigating this is going to have to send numerous subpoenas to every bank they think might have touched any of the suspicious financial activity. That takes time.

Yep. Financial crimes are one of the only crimes punished severely these days. I’d be surprised if it doesn’t expand beyond Walter, too.
