The olds at the Y in BR all thought they could dream shake and would take about 7 steps everytime

The 3-Point shot has ruined Basketball.
A Low Post player gets an offensive rebound in the lane.Instead of powering up for a shot and preparing for contact,they pass it out to the 3-point line.

I went to a high school BB game last week. The score at the end of the first quarter was 4-0!!! Bad shots and no drives.

anecdotal, but my oldest is playing 7th grade ball this year. they're undefeated at this point.
i've seen a lot of teams having their wings and PGs take a bunch of 3s that are hilarious at their age. ridiculous number of airballs. we have 2 that will take them, but i think they get up/downs for taking them stupidly.
his team has 4 guys that are 5'7 or taller so they just murder them under the rim and driving in. while 3s look cool, somebody has to teach kids about %s of shots falling in.

Bump on this. My son’s team played a team that actually had a shooter tonight that landed about 4 3s which is lights out for 7th grade. They still won handily by controlling the paint on D and depending on layups but I had to eat crow. Plenty of stupid long range shots from the rest of their team.

I’ll make sure to let Yanni, AD, etc that they should stop going back up.
Game hasn’t changed. Except that poor shooters no longer take bad shots. Kawhi still shoots midrange. As do other great players.
But the mediocre players that you want taking mid range or going up strong aren’t doing so become they aren’t good at it.
