doubt it. says he's staying on as the AD. a scandal would prevent that i would think.

Sounds like the parents pushed him out of the job in favor of an assistant

He has been involved in a lawsuit against the school. Probably didnt end well.

His first five years at the school he was only allowed to hire two new assistant coaches. He has since been to the semifinals three times and the quarterfinals twice all while never once having a full staff of coaches allotted by the LHSAA.

I think you can figure out why he resigned and why he will most likely resurface next season at a private school.

Sorry to burst any bubbles that were looking for a scandal.

there have been some issues going on with some of the buildings at the school and some believe it has something to do with that. he was likely pushed out because of his position on action not being taken for facilities that he and the kids have to be in several hours a day.

Quitting on your team this late reflects very poorly on the coach.

Nothing about the job changed in the 8 month offseason. If he was willing to accept the status quo back then, he should have accepted it now.

What's your point? Of course it sucks for the kids but if you think any high school in the state wouldn't hire him at the drop of a hat next season you are crazy. I'm not here to judge the man one way or the other for resigning.

The point of my earlier post was to dispel any rumors about improper relationships because that's the way the thread was headed. He has a history with the administration and the parish school board. Everyone around the Mandeville program knew it was only a matter of time before he moved on.

I'm telling you that every AD in the state would look at him quitting as a negative. It would be one of my very first questions during the interview process. I would also call every person I knew to get the scoop on what really happened.

Big blow for mand, he is one of the better coaches in the state.

What was the lawsuit about that he was in?

None of that explains why he would quit a week before the season starts. Lawsuit, facilities, lack of coaches...None of it explains the bizarre timing, there's more to the story.

A simple search of the Clerk of Court's website shows that the lawsuit was dropped last week. That explains the timing.
