That's the normal rule with the flag too. So I guess they'll keep it to remain consistent.

If it gets stuck in the flag?

This is if the ball becomes lodged in the basket...

Just heard that. I was just thinking, if this thing really is open, why do they show preference to tour pros by having a qualifier near their tour stop, and giving them more spots. I realize most o these spots will be taken by tour pros, but that just doesn't seem right. That and with the spike/ spikeless rules they are playing qualifiers under different rules

Oh wow. The two sites in Columbus are 25 minutes apart. BR could definitely do CCL and uclub if they needed two sites.

Yes. If your ball gets stuck in the flag, it is placed on the lip.

Didn't know that. Didn't know it could happen, TBH.

Hmmm, learn two new things a day.

I think the USGA dangles that carrot in front of us so that when someone says "xyz is such an unfair rule" they can shoot back with " yeah but if your ball defies physics and probability, you get to drop it to tap in distance"

I've never heard of it happening but I guess with the right angle and wind the ball could wrap itself in a flag.

Peterson was on earlier today talking about how he played last year from 6 a.m. until about 10 minutes before the sun set.

How do they play in the dark?

I guess the combo of being north and west of us gives them a longer day

Mac Hughes gets one of two spots in St. Louis. He birdied his last four holes in the local to grab a 2nd alternate spot. Jay Haas WDs at last minute and he gets to St. Louis and wins playoff to get into the open

Nah, they said on GC that the sun had gone down, and the dudes in Dallas wanted to keep playing. Maybe I've had too much vino and can't decipher sarcasm anymore.
