the kid probably put a ton of pressure on himself, and didn't perform!

Googling his name looks like he's a PGA Teaching Pro...

I get that's its possible, maybe I'm just harping on the format in that nearly all of these guys had to go below par within the last 2 weeks.

I bet he really did not hit many, if any, terrible shots. Just went for a few pins and hit it in a few in hazards and putted bad. It can happen pretty easily.

Oh, I agree. I think it's BS they let them WD because they shot 76 and are in 60th place after the morning round.

The no names want to finish so they get their rounds in and say they played two rounds at sectionals.

Once you shoot yourself out, who cares. Get home earlier

Wasn't it just last year when Rickie shot 84 in the final round of the memorial? I can easily see a 2 handicap blowing up, especially when he was probably telling himself this was the biggest day of his golf life to date.

I guess that makes sense. Considering the biggest non-junior tournament I've participated in is the BR Open, I really should just STFU.

Going to try and qualify for the LGA Mid-Am, though!

Maybe because I'm just not that streaky, but two weeks ago this guy who had to shoot a sub-par round, just garnered a near stroke a hole difference?

Two weeks can make a lot of difference. Hell, one day can make a huge difference. Some pro at the Memorial this week shot 82-69 in the 3rd and 4th rounds.

What do you shoot on your bad days Golfer?

Break 80 and you're good. Possibly 85

I will never forget that in high school I shot 64 in regionals on Monday and 89 in a LGA qualifier on Tuesday.

I'm a 7.3: worst round this year is a 87. Best is a 77. Been within 80-84 every round the last two months...

That is a very narrow dispersion. The only thing I can think of is that you might not play a ton of different golf courses. I know my score dispersion is a lot higher when I play a ton of different tracks. Also, the whole tournament factor cannot be discounted. It is a lot easier for me to score when I'm just focused on having a good time with my buddies and picking up gimmes. Of course, I don't know you at all, so you could just be unnaturally consistent

That's actually 8 rounds on 7 courses.

My problem is now down to 2-4 holes a round where I'll end up OB or stymied and having to punch out backwards, etc.

I rarely make birdies, but I'm good for 2 doubles and a triple every round.

There's an 11 man playoff for 7 spots in Columbus. All 11 players are PGA Tour members. Apparently Mike Weir made par on his 36th hole to get into that playoff, but is on a different course down the road, and a car accident is keeping him from getting back to the course where the playoff is being held. You can't make these US Open qualifying stories up.

How do they break the ties? Sudden Death on the same hole?
