Ruth and ted Williams had the advantage of better brain- Vision.
Ruth could not watch films of his era because he could see the INDIVIDUAL frames. (HE WOULD SEE THEM ADVANCE AS IF IN SLOW MOTION)

The 1992 United States men's Olympic basketball team, nicknamed the "Dream Team", was the first American Olympic team to feature active professional players from the National Basketball Association (NBA). The team is described by American journalists as the greatest sports team ever assembled.[1][2] The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame called the team "the greatest collection of basketball talent on the planet".[3] At the 1992 Summer Olympics held in Barcelona, the team defeated its opponents by an average of 44 points en route to the gold medal against Croatia.[4] Chuck Daly served as coach, assisted by Lenny Wilkens, P. J. Carlesimo, and Mike Krzyzewski.[5]

50s Celtics horror story.
Warriors with 2 all stars had a 3 point lead with maybe 5 or 6 seconds to go.
They couldn't inbound the ball under Cs basket.
Lost by 1.
The level of intensity that the Russell cousy Celtics d manifested was amazing.
And cousy's passing was contagious.
The Celtics backcourt was small by today's standards. But back then you had to dribble on top of the ball, no carry. No travel, so smaller guards would steal the ball from tall players who had to put the ball on the floor to get to the basket. Allowing steps and carry has ruined the game.
Off my lawn too
