This.
If you can play and win you can play and win and that's all the kid has ever done.
Michael Vick wasn't tall enough.
Doug Flutie wasn't tall enough.
Drew Brees wasn't tall enough.

Yea Bama had a lack of talent the last few years.

Precisely. Draft him or don’t draft him, but view him as he is, not how you wish he’d be.

Vince Young, Tim Tebow, Cam Newton, Johnny Manziel, Trevor Lawrence, Joe Burrow, and now Bryce Young.

Who said this?
Vick was the #1 pick from the time he went to the BCS game against Florida State until he came out
He was something the sport had never seen before

He’s a squirrelly bastard in the pocket. I do think a taller lankier version couldn’t duck and weave like he does, then immediately throw a perfect pass because somehow his feet and hips are aligned in the perfect position.
Not saying a taller version wouldn’t be as successful, but he would employ different skills at times.
Mahomes is only a couple of inches taller. He’s a master at keeping plays alive, but he looks much different than Bryce when doing so

The counter argument to that is, those guys are outliers. Exceptions to the general rule of what usually works.

Do you really think Bryce Young is bad as a Bama fan?
I just don’t think he should be a #1 pick.

I just want to know what this guy thinks about Bryce.

Ehat does being small even mean anymore. You can't hit them so what different does a QB size mean anymore? Goes for WRs too. You have have 150 lbs kids like the kid Smith on the Eagles running around safe and comfortable because there are no more Brian Dawkins running around.

Batted balls. If a guy is 5'9'' and throws a good ball it can get batted by a 6'3'' DE much easier than a guy who is 6'3'' throwing that same ball, in theory.
That's what people say but I have no idea if it is accurate. It makes sense as the ball is coming out at a much lower place

I worry more about Bryce's frame than his height. I like Bryce and I'm pulling for him but he looks one good hit away from the end of his career.

generational prospect
a term that gets thrown around way too often
Exactly. That would be the single best QB of his generation, a span of ~twenty years. You would be saying that a 6'2" Bryce Young will be a better QB than Mahomes, Allen, Burrow, etc. I mean, it could happen but while there is nothing to say he isn't the best prospect in 2023, there is also nothing he has shown that says he will be better than THOSE players, regardless of how tall he is/isnt.

Bryce Young will do fine in the NFL. Stroud might do better though. He tore up Georgia’s D.

Yes

It's hilarious how some are trying to compare him and Murray because they are short, run a bit, and are both the same race. Young is nowhere near the physical athlete that Murray is. He is a bit taller, which helps him, but he was a very good player playing on at team with nearly double the talent of any team it played over the course of his career.
Murray is a much faster, quicker twitch athlete, and likely has the stronger arm by a good bit.
Young is nowhere near a generational player even at 6'2, but he is likely a good NFL QB.

Ummm..... This is a horrible take on so many levels. Just cause UGA was better the last two years, it does not mean Bama's talent was lower. Sure, perhaps Robinson wasn't their typical back, but this year that is not an excuse. Neither is the talent around him at WR in 2021 and 2022.
Guy gets so many excuses it is unbelievable.

Now do how much money they earned playing a game they were told they weren't tall enough to play.

Why does no one seem to realize you can’t be as twitchy and quick as Kyler Murray or Bryce Young AND be tall.
Lamar Jackson ? He isn't a midget. Young is considerably better than Murray. Young to his credit doesn't run at the first opportunity.
