2-5 overall and 0-4 in district?

What the hell?

Just looked at their record over the last 3 seasons:

18-14 overall and 8-10 in district

Looks like will be the 8th straight year they haven’t won their district

Game starting to pass Curtis by?

No longer has a recruiting advantage?

Lost to 1-2-3-5 in Select D1 and a Texas power. Nothing is wrong with them.

They play in the most stacked district in the state, it’s unreal how good it is from top to bottom. They haven’t been getting blown out.

Don't have backs this year that are going to break one 75 yards vs. a Catholic League opponent.

Losses have been pretty competitive.

It's not this year it's basically been since the split and they joined the Catholic League.

They are what they've always been an upper echelon, but not dominant program when compared to the other top tier programs in the state.

The only difference is prior to the split they could avoid playing against the big boys so they appeared to be much better than they were.

This is such a tired response. I remember in the early 2000s watching them play Brock Berlin and Evangel as well as West Monroe. Same 3A JC traveled to Hoover during their height and beat them. They have been wanting to be in the Catholic League for the money.

Last 4 years, State Title, Quarterfinals, and 2 Semi Finals

Can count on 1 hand the number of teams in LA that would not be 2-5 vs that schedule.

Yes and it was discussed in the LHSAA week 7 thread yesterday. There is a huge difference in going play Hoover for a meaningless regular season game and running the 5A Playoff gauntlet before the split.

I have respect for Evangel because they said frick it we're the best and we're going to prove it. Curtis said y'all have fun I'm going to dominate 4A and brag about all of my titles.

Would Curtis have won a few in 5A? Probably so. Just like they have won a couple since the split, but they would not have been dominant. Just like they are not dominant now.

They lost both of those games.

Which would make Curtis the 6th best team in the state.

Let’s just call them what they are, the St. Bernard Eagles

But yeah if they’re building a new building there, I can imagine it takes resources they’d rather be spending to get talent there. Maybe that’s why they’ve mildly fell off a little
