Less.

I don't know if that's just because I'm getting older or because the game has changed so much, but I'm no longer as big into the sport as I used to be. Ten years ago I would tune into every Alabama game as well as multiple different games from around the conference and country. Now it doesn't hurt when I fail to watch Alabama play against a mid-tier conference/non-conference opponent. That would have been anathema to me a decade ago.

Also, 10 years was 2013, not 2000 like I often in my head think.

I like CFB/CBB about the same as I did 10 years ago. Really, it just comes down to the one thing (Wisconsin) that my friends and I, unequivocally, completely agree upon.

All sports are now available for your viewing pleasure.

I can watch any MLB game every day. College baseball is not even a thought. I can watch every NBA and NFL game too. Minor league games don't stand a chance.

I can watch practically every putt of every golf tourney, LIV or PGA. That's a full schedule folks.

I used to think this was the reason, but it's not the reason I am not as engulfed in college sports anymore.

It's the agenda based BS human interest/tabloid media coverage, the actual function of the way the games are played has become so focused on replay/ruling challenges, rivalries and history are being sold off, and the lack of loyalty (transfer portal/coaching hires) on all sides really has dimmed the fun of the "tribal" aspect of cheering for my team. A growing number of the participants don't see it as a grand privilege to play the game, rather just another way to sell their "brand".

CFB less but it’s hard to match the magic of when you’re in your teens

College Sports in general? Arguably more

True but the NIL and free transfers lessened the magic of it for me. I don’t begrudge them making money, just isn’t as interesting as them just being student athletes.

LSU Football - about the same but go to less home games, probably about the same # of road games, 1 per season. Now from 20 years ago its significantly less in person games, but thats life.

LSU Basketball/Baseball - maybe slightly less, again mostly life.

General College Sports: football, slightly less; basketball significantly less, to the point where I rarely watch any non-LSU game until the tournament.

much less.

grew up caring mostly about MLB/Braves from age 5-12 or so. Then started following college football/basketball religiously from age 12 to probably age 30 with moderate interest in MLB. Interest in college sports has started to wane as we become more and more removed from that 90s/early 00s period when I thought it was at its peak. Now I'm mostly invested back in MLB/Braves again from age 30 to 37 or so.

A lot less.

I probably watch as much CFB as I used to but I care much less, if that makes sense. I watch it for entertainment and I really don't get hung up on wins and losses. I also view college athletes differently now. It used to be I had respect for the student athlete, now I see most of them as mercenaries for hire. I don't care if they win or lose or really what happens to them, just entertain me.

That sounds very ghoulish but it's an attitude college athletics and the player's greed and me-first attitude has brought upon themselves.

I realize I am only a few steps away from totally disengaging from following college sports.

11 years ago I was just graduating from Ole Miss. Just about to get married as well. Didnt have (looking back) a true care in the world. College sports were VERY high on my list.

Fast forward 11 years. Still married, own a home, have career, and have three boys (almost 8, 5, and 15 months).

To say college sports isnt as high as on my list of priorities would be an understatement. Still pull for my Rebs, its just not anything like it was before.

I’m a diehard LSU Fan. Absolutely love being in Alex Box and Tiger Stadium. I will continue to enjoy the heck out of it, but I’m not as caught up in it as I was 10 years ago. May certainly be the season of life I’m in, but curious what the overall tone of the board is.

Less, but that’s because I have young kids and am now vicariously living through their sports accolades and no longer 18-23 year old, unrelated men.

For football discussion, considerably less.

-Conference realignment
-Free reign transfer portal w/out consequence
-NIL
-Game has changed (less power running, triple option, etc) to one style of offense; Less emphasis of defense
-Stadiums have been renovated to monstrosities that teams can rarely fill
-More emphasis on technology (strobe light shows, piped in music) and less on marching bands, cheers, etc
-Many rivalries have died
-I hate the neutral site games and devolving from home/homes

Less because of NIL and the immediate transfer rule.

I don’t follow recruiting like I used to, but I still love college football and college basketball. Never been much of a college baseball guy.
