Didn’t the winner of the Championship level PDGA tour throw like -39 during the tournament?

I assume That was at a championship level course?

Multiple courses for 5 rounds- so an average of about -8 per round.

The flaw in your argument is no gives a shite about “real” courses that apparently only people that are really into it know about. No one is trying to compete with the best players in the world.

"Real" courses are everywhere LHC in BR and PdF in Marrero are examples of tournament-level courses and there are tons of other courses in SELA that are extremely challenging.

My point is that you have to try to compare apples to apples the best you can. The short casual rec courses compare favorably to par 3 chip and putts. I don't know any regular golfers that play just par 3 courses and I don't know any regular disc golfers that just play recreational par 3 courses.

The whole notion is really kinda ridiculous plenty of sports are fairly simple to pick up DG is one of them, getting good at any of them is still hard.

In BR? Whats the best courses to play?

With Greenwood closed for renovations, Highland is probably the best course for beginners playing the purple baskets. The only issue is it is busy 7 days a week even during the day. Flanacher up in Zachery is more challenging possibly frustrating for a beginner but it is secluded and quiet. If you look you will find markers for the short tees but only a couple of them have actual teepads downloading the course map will help you find the orange markers for the short tees. Don't go after a lot of heavy rain as the course tends to hold water. It is a 21 hole course but skip #2 and go to #3, if you walk it you will thank me.

If you get down to NOLA area City Park is decent but busy. PdF in Marerro is awesome and has multiple tees so the shorts are playable for a novice. Magnolia Park in St. Martinville is another nice course that though a little long for a beginner it is fairly open. Lake Clairborne State Park has 2 courses that are arguably the best in the state, though I prefer PdF, and well worth the visit when you start getting better.

An excellent aid is Discgolfcoursereview.com it has excellent reviews for almost every course in the nation. It also has course maps and most have pictures of ever hole often from multiple angles. When I am going to play a new course I usually play through the course in my mind with the pictures. I bag courses when I travel and by doing this I can hopefully pick the correct discs for my travel bag which only has space for 10 discs where I normally carry ~30 discs when I play most local courses.

I'm guessing Scotlandville is a hard no?

Because you can't. You have the frisbee in your hand on every shot. You are confusing lie and line

So if your frisbee is up against a tree, cliff, fence, etc and your foot has to be directly behind your disc would that not impact your "lie"

If your disc is leaning up against a tree with a steep drop off underneath it you literally have to find footing to throw and you might be off balance doing it. would be the same thing as being in a bunker or rough. It impacts how you hit the ball or throw a disc.

Thats my favorite local course, it floods frequently though. It was designed by a former pro, avery jenkins.

Ive aced hole 7 at scottlandville twice in the last 4 months.

Im playing idlewild in Kentucky next week, its rated the #9 course in the world by udisc. Pretty excited.

if anyone is interested in disc golf in the DFW area I'll take you out one day and teach you how to play. It's so much fun baws. It's only going to get more popular.

Let's do it.

There's actually a course in my community. I just haven't went find it yet, because I can't pull myself off the pickleball courts.

Don't a lot of these people get really triggered if you call it "frisbee" or are they over that now?
