How difficult is it to throw a frisbee straight? I feel like that is something I could consistently do. I’m guess it would take a few throws to match the distance of the elite of course.
It’s much more difficult than you’re making it

If you're willing to spend money-

Buy a starter pack of discs. Should include a Putter, Midrange, and FD or Distance Driver.

Tocobaga Disc Golf Course

St. Petersburg, FL 33711

Follow rules if you can. Let me know results. I'll do the same with a golf course around Dallas.

I’ve always wondered if that course was legit. After looking at pictures it looks like it could host a US Open

Marsh, elevated baskets, baskets with THICK brush directly behind them, possibly water, thick forest.

I can’t help but feel like you’re setting me up for failure here

That said, let’s do it

I just looked up the course on UDisc. That course does not look fun. At least the entire course is all par 3s. Easy to keep score. Good luck lol

I've played real golf my entire life and have played championship level courses and they bent me over.

I've also played some REALLY tough disc golf courses in the PNW.

The sports aren't comparable. There are exponentially more skills and nuance involved in real golf. It is truly in another stratosphere of skill.

Apparently Azalea disc golf course is pretty friendly to new players.

I dont Think I can frick up throwing a frisbee as close to as bad as I routinely frick up hitting a good ball.

Andni get the “it’s more fun” because you don’t have to deal with the frustration of routinely fricking up.

You about to catch the dg bug and be addicted. Sorry for making you spend $100's on DG apparel, discs, bags, accessories

Well ball golf( ) is my passion so this won’t be taking over. But I’ve been trying to get my buddies out on a disc golf course. 50% of our beach trips are spent throwing a frisbee. Half the time we meet up to play kickball the whole thing turns into an ultimate frisbee game. They’d love it.

To anyone who thinks it's a stoner sport I dare you to go play and try to shoot even or better. If you're at a decent course it will take you years to consistently shoot under par.

And people who pickup "ball golf" will NEVER shoot par or better.

I lost all my discs from the ~6 year absence from playing, but I am solely a forehand and tomahawk thrower, never been able to throw a backhand ever (except for short/simple throws and putting).

3-4 months ago started playing again and I've been using destroyers. Don't know how I like them so far. Any good suggestions for discs I should buy? Been using the cheap DX plastics for now, but I plan on getting nicer discs once I get better

I challenge anyone to play me in Golf and then Disc Golf. 100% of the time I'm going to win vs someone who's played golf their whole life and 0 disc golf

You baws can't pick up after throwing a disc into the drink and give yourself a double

Besides maybe an athletic person that has played baseball competitively, the average adult probably wont finish 18 holes under 200 on a decent golf course if youre playing the ball down and theyve never played the sport before. Thats being generous imo

No. Just no.

File this under “things to never say” along with “golfing”.
