Same. Now that Discgolf is the future, calling it golfball makes a lot more sense.

as someone that sucks horribly at both, disc golf does seem easier, although I have no idea if that is true among elite type play
but the barrier to entry does seem simpler and easier for disc golf

Hit my first ace last year after 20Y of playing. Felt great

Absolutely agree. I must be a phenom with disc golf. I played them both less than 5 times. Disc golf I was always stoned using random discs and did decent. I didn’t even realize they had different disc for different situations until my 3rd time.
Conversely, I couldn’t even finish a round of golf without being embarrassed using clubs worth $1,000+. The first 3 times I would just pick up my ball and play a scramble of sorts with one of the better players.

End of high school and early college I got really good playing Highland road park.
I wore that course out in the 2000s. My only ace was on hole 5 there.

I challenge anyone to play me in Golf and then Disc Golf. 100% of the time I'm going to win vs someone who's played golf their whole life and 0 disc golf
You baws can't pick up after throwing a disc into the drink and give yourself a double

Go play a championship level course in DG and then play a championship level course in golf. I bet your scores will be similar

More fun that ball golf, less expensive, better exercise, more weed.

To anyone who thinks it's a stoner sport I dare you to go play and try to shoot even or better.
Well, which is it?

Disc golf is the new Hacky Sack. Same crowd.

This is so out of whack with reality. Most peoples initial interaction with DG is playing what is analogous to a chip and putt in golf. Play something like Parc des Familles from the whites (middle tees) and a beginner is not going to be even close to par.
I have introduced a lot of people to DG over the years, some sub 10 handicap golfers and some excellent athletes and I have never seen one get within 18 strokes of par on an "average" length and difficulty course when the rules are followed on their first try.
I would love to see all these no DGers shoot near par on something as simple and "average" on the Highland yellow baskets.

I stand by my statement.

Go buy yourself a distance driver and see if you could throw 400 feet. If you can't, you are not sniffing par on a decent course.

I live in downtown St. Petersburg. We have close to 10 courses I’d be willing to drive to(that’s including Tampa).
If you have time, find me a suitable course and I’ll go play it and report back with my findings.

How difficult is it to throw a frisbee straight? I feel like that is something I could consistently do. I’m guess it would take a few throws to match the distance of the elite of course.
Hitting a golf ball straight is a different story

I played disc golf one time and got my wig split by a wayward frisbee. Took a couple snitches in the scalp. Good times
