I believe this is the right move for Deion. He knows his kid's strengths better than anyone. I know this board isn't gonna like it, but Shedeur has shown a good amount of potential. He's still young with lots of room to improve.

First, there's no way he's going to be able to really separate dad from coach. Second, if I'm Shedeur, as an adult now I would be pissed if my daddy wanted to meet with my new boss. And third, why can't this be a phone call?

if Deshaun Watson can get back to 75% of what he was, Shedeur will never see the field.

That is, in fact, the rub.

unless he is a bona fide starter next year I would talk to the GM about cutting him or trading him

Because I think it’s vital that as a coach, not the dad, I can tell him a few things about [Shedeur], how to get him going.

Step 1: Retire his jersey number

If Shed was half the man that hes made out to be (by dad), he would tell his dad to stay the frick away

Fourth…why couldn’t Deion just meet or talk to Monken privately without announcing it to the world? I’m sure plenty of college coaches have spoken to their former players’ NFL coaches, but they don’t go making public announcements about it

It's a sad day when a father won't let his grown arse son stand-----or fall on his own merit.

As a coach I think his time would be better served trying to figure out how to get his current team going.

I'd love to be a fly on the wall in that room. Monken is a no-nonsense kind of guy. This will go over like a turd in a punch bowl.

I don’t know how anyone can respect Monken if he actually does this meeting.

I'm not an expert of if a PROFESSIONAL foorball player needs his former coach (or daddy for that matter) to come tell his current coach how to "get the most out of him" that's probably a pretty good indication that said player shouldn't be playing in the NFL.
