re: Current cap space projection

That’s light work for this FO
The more tape that I watch in Lemon, the more I like him. I have heard people compare him to St. Brown, and I can see it mixed in with some JSN.

He runs good routes, has strong hands, makes contested catches, good return ability, and good YAC.

The best scenario (of course) would be to trade back and pick him outside of the top 10 and get at least another pick out of it.

But if the FO is worried that trading back will cause them to lose him to another team…. I would be good with “sticking and picking” there.

I am also good with Love at that spot as well (and I don’t usually like a RB that high)…….as long as we take care of IOL in FA and not just rely on the draft to fix it.

maybe a medicine ball QB was the problem?

He’s had concussion issues since college. He only went concussion free this year because he goes down before contact…..no fighting for extra yards.

I like Olave, but to act like this isn’t a problem is short sighted and naive. He also CAN’T make contested catches (see Miami). I was dead set against an extension for him prior to this past season, but he did move the needle for me a good bit…….BUT this is still a very risky contract.

For a team that is trying to build around a (possible) franchise QB, having that contract go belly up would set this team back tremendously because you are wasting the window that you are not paying the QB much money.

Now you couple the concussion issues with the inability to make contested catches, AND now a blood clot issue……..it’s pretty dicey.

I am not saying that they shouldn’t end up paying him……but the fans acting like it’s a slam dunk to “just pay the man” are fricking retarded lol. This dude is a concussion away from a possible retirement

Trade him Carr and Ruiz...Klint needs guys he is familiar with.

If you can get a fricking bag of footballs for Ruiz…….take it!

So Brave….
Well it shouldn’t matter, they have Pro Bowl QB sensation Shedeur Sanders

Good WRs in second round. Bernard and Sarratt look promising.

I really pike Zachariah Branch and Omar Cooper as well. Good YAC guys, and we need that DESPERATELY

You don’t like him but it isn’t because of his age

Exactly

But 100%, DK should be ruined financially for making this up. Anyone who falsly accuses someone for racism should pay severe consequences

Absolutely
But Mel Kiper and Acho, told me that Shedeur should have been picked at 40 instead of Tyler:lol:

How so? Please dazzle me with your genius….

The incident happened during an nfl game involving a current player. It’s not directly saints related but very much nfl related.

I get it Bud, I’m just giving you shite

I agree with you about this wholeheartedly.
Good! Tired of people getting away with this race baiting bullshite.

That said…..this probably should be on the more sports or political board

deebo

I would be ok with him on an incentive heavy contract. He hasn’t been as productive the last couple of years, but he’s only JUST turned 30 last month……so there may be some left in the tank
I actually like Love more as a prospect than I did Jeanty…….and I really like Jeanty.

As long as they fix the OL in FA, I have no issue with getting Love in the 1st (and I am normally against a RB in the 1st).

This team needs explosive players on offense at RB and WR (YAC)

You don’t follow the team close enough then. It’s common knowledge that the was hurt most of 2023 and the dline coach played him out of position in 2024

He he an extremely high run defense grade as well. He needs to be back on a reasonable contract

I have been watching the Saints RELIGIOUSLY since I was 4……I am now 44. You absolutely have a fair point about his injury in 2023 and the issue in 2024…..but those were not the only issues. He looked washed.

Even the local writers covering the team said that his contract needs to make sense for the team (incentive based). He will be 37. You are taking it as me bashing Cam, I’m not….. I love Cam. But this fanbase has LAMBASTED Loomis for paying guys for too long (on the wrong side of 30).

We all know he wants to be here, we would all love for him to be here……but they also need to be able to go spend on the OL in FA. Hopefully it all works out so everyone is happy

The guy you responded to literally said incentive laden, which is the opposite of a fully guaranteed contract. xD

He’s saying that Cam alluded to the fact that he doesn’t want another incentive laden contract.

My response to that was that if he doesn’t want an incentive based contract….the Saints should move on. Cam NEEDS an incentive based contract. It’s not some big coincidence that in a year where he had to hit thresholds to make more money…..he all of a sudden pops out a 10 sack season.

SOME of that is Staley’s scheme helped him…..but make no mistake, the incentives helped with that as well.

what he is saying is no more heavy incentive contracts

Then he can go. I love Cam, but there’s no way I would give him a fully guaranteed contract after he finally has another good season……..on an incentive laden contract:lol:

Would love to have him back, but it needs to make sense. This team is in desperate need of guards and weapons on offense. The money in FA needs to be spent at G (most importantly). If they can fit Cam and Demario into it, great.

do not like the Pierce signing at all

You are out of your mind lol, Pierce is a VERY good WR and we would be lucky to have him. He IMMEDIATELY improves the WR room.

Now if you want to argue that we would be better served spending those dollars on IOL and go WR in the draft……I am with you. I also believe that this offense is in DESPERATE need of a YAC guy……which I believe will be easier (and much cheaper) to acquire in the draft.

No way. I’m here in Dallas. Major mental issues. Do not blow the salary cap on this guy. You can’t trust him.

This! As much as I like the talent, he’s probably even more of a liability (potentially head case wise) than MT was near the end
