Glad he is standing up for his beliefs. I don't agree with the comment but I don't want him to apologize even if they threaten to fire him. It's his fricking right.

It's also ESPNs right to fire his arse. Schilling is annoying.

Yes it is, and frankly ESPN will. Schilling is a douche. It's as if he has been making comments to see what he can get away with. But the guy could twirl. Funny that he won the Branch Rickey and Clemente awards in 2001.

I agree with people voicing their opinions, but if he gets fired it's his fault. Last time I checked, he needs to job too.

He has the freedom to say what he thinks. However, most people who have jobs in the public eye understand that compensation comes with the potential for loss of freedom of expression - or failing to self-censor, the loss of employment.
If you cross over the line between what you're paid to talk about and talking about other things (esp which are controversial) then you take that risk.

Isn't Deadspin bankrupt? When they go under because of the Hogan settlement it will be a glorious day. They are nothing but a hate filled, vendetta filled, bigoted, rag.
Yes, Schilling will get fired for this. Yet the morons at ESPN like Bomani Jones and LeBetard are never disciplined for their outrageous, discriminatory opinions.
Good for Schilling for having the balls to say what everyone knows. Fox will hire him and their broadcast will be better for it.

In this case, he's not wrong. I'm shocked that the network that gave Bruce Jenner the Arthur Ashe courage award would want to fire shilling for hving that opinion. Shocked I tell ya.

Well I find it highly offensive when Jemile Hill (sp? I don't even care to look up for accurate spelling of her name) says things are racist when they aren't.. Or when they would have a white commentator try to push their agenda and say we need more black quarterbacks in the NFL.
What if we say we need more white backs in the NFL.. (I don't feel we need any more of any race fwiw, and that if you are great enough in today's time you will play.) We don't need a certain number of anything. I am tired of this double standard BS. I quit watching ESPN because of their agendas and my life has been much better. Any ways, I thought Schilling got in trouble with ESPN over this type of behavior before.. probably just a suspension if he is still employed (I wouldn't know I no longer watch them)
He is fine to express his opinions, but he also knows it could cost him his job with ESPN.
ESPN got rid of their MNF football theme song because of Hank Williams Jr's comments about Obama.

Schilling is a douche, but Disney is hypocritical allowing people like Bomani Jones the ability to say whatever he wants. I just love how his Caucasians stunt blew up in his face. The guy was looking to start a controversy, and ended launching a small tshirt company to its best sales month ever.
All of that being said, ESPN should be allowed to hire/fire people for whatever reason they deem appropriate.

They got rid of it because it was TIRED and played out. I'm a white guy in his 40s who was sick of it. I can imagine how guys 15-20 years younger felt. Hank Jr. handed them the ammo when he said a bunch of stupid political shite.
Talk about the fricking games. No one gives a rusty frick what Curt Schilling thinks about transgendered people. I censor my political beliefs on social media because of my job and I don't feel like catching shite from folks. Other people should do the same. It ain't like your dumb-arse meme will change anyone's mind anyhow

I'm surprised that they didn't fire schilling a while ago. He's been saying shite like this for years.

How dare he speak the truth.
Maybe Disney will fire him and replace him with an Indian cricket commentator and make Schilling train him before he leaves.
That is how those sanctimonious cocksuckers roll. Look at us! making a stand with words! right up until we can save a fricking nickel
typical liberals

People who start a thread about a quote or picture and don't post that quote or picture deserve a special place in hell

Yes he has a right to his beliefs and the government cannot and should not Do anything about it. But he doesn't have a right to a job at ESPN or anywhere else.
Posted on 4/20/16 at 6:43 am to MartinRiggs1
I wouldn't be that surprised if ESPN put him up to it. One argument looks good when the other side is given by a racist alcoholic
