You sound triggered by black people having an opinion.
I wish they could just be “silent” like they were in the good ole days, right?
If only there were a term to describe this behavior….
So...which HBCU players would you have drafted?

Wait, so the NFL draft was 60-75% black, yet blacks are only 13% of the population? There were almost 200 black players drafted, but none from HBCU, and this is the hill that they want to die on?
I had no idea that being from an HBCU made any difference.

Grambling has produced dozens and dozens of NFL players, including a few HOFers.
Grambling also started their season in mid-March, and played a total of 4 games.
Let’s not play football until six weeks before the draft, then only play a handful of games, then complain when NFL scouts and teams don’t have enough information to risk a draft pick on one of our players.
The timing has little to do with it. If the SEC had played in the spring all their guys would have been selected like usual.
The bottom line is that the SWAC is not very well funded and loses every recruiting battle to the Southland and Sun Belt, let alone the SEC

How many players from HBCUs are drafted each year?
For FCS ball in general, there arent alot of these guys getting drafted into the NFL. There are plenty of exremely talented guys that gets looked over every year, that's just part of the game. Pro teams want guys from the bigger schools. They'll look at smaller program guys, but it's alot more rare.
I mean let's look at North Dakota State, for example. They are the Alabama of FCS football. Even they struggle to get a lot of guys drafted consistently. In the past decade, they have had 8 guys drafted into the NFL. That's not a bad number at all, but its definitely not competing with P5 numbers. NDSU is the elite of FCS football. I hate to say it, but for the most part the best HBCUs are usually mid-tier in FCS ball. The last time an HBCU won the FCS championship was in 1978.
As for D2 ball, in history going back to 1978, I don't think an HBCU has ever won the championship in that league.

Nowhere in this article is this attributed to race. Only on this board would people immediately jump to this conclusion. It's pretty pathetic.

there is no difference in talent between P5 and HBCU
Auburn has played a few like Alabama A&M on occasion and emptied the bench in the third qtr. I'm sure other SEC teams have played HBCUs from time to time and seen similar results.

I saw people on twitter legit saying there is no difference in talent between P5 and HBCU and that it’s attributable to less exposure and funding for the programs
This sounds similar to critical race theory.

This guy is right and he is also wrong.
Everyone jumped to the conclusion that this is a black white issue, because of the stupid name "HBCU's" which is an easy connection to make. But, Deion Sanders doesn't give a shite about black people, or white people. Deion only loves him some Deion.
This is the 9th season since 2000 that the NFL has not drafted anyone from any HBCU.
This guy nails it.
Sanders is a fraud

where did it say anything about race? sounds like his gripe is neglect against the schools because they arent big schools.

HBCU sort of has it in it's name. Although there was once a white QB who started for Grambling and 60 minutes did a documentary on him as he was viewed by other students as a "curiosity".

did you know there's not a single white cornerback in the NFL? We need to fix this guys.

The one avenue that should be a meritocracy before anything else is sports. You can either hit the curve or you can't. You can cover one-on-one without safety help or you can't. You drain a deep 3 with a hand in your face or you can't.
Skin color or the school you attend or anything else shouldn't have anything to do with it.
