Here's a recent photo of him walking out of a courtroom last Friday.

Too bad his head is still the size of a watermelon.

The difference is even more noticible in a Giant's jersey. When he threw out the first pitch during one of the World Series games he looked like he was floating in his old Giant's Jersey.

He has no need to take roids anymore. He will be dead in 10 years or less for abusing his body with performance enhancing drugs.

Rumor has it, his hat size went from 7 1/8 to GAWDDAMN!

people still crying over roids.

What people fail to realize is the roids didn't give him an incredible eye for the strikezone and the fastest top hand in baseball. Dude is a hall of famer with or without roids.

Hmmmm... certainly didn't hurt. But I do know what you mean. It's rare for a lefty to have the ability to shorten their swing, keeping their hands tucked in to their midsection, and take a pitch that's probably a little off the inside corner and keep it fair. Pujols is about the best I've ever seen at it.

I agree he was a HOFer had he not got on the roids. But you don't make an exception with him.
Even though he was great, it still gave him an edge. Robinson Cano and Hanley Ramirez (there might be some better examples, these are the two that popped into my mind) are pretty good all around players and arguably the best at their position. While they have a lot of skill on their own, and could potentially be HOFers, I would imagine if they started juicing, they could put up some extremely big numbers.

You can thank the media for shaping public opinion in that matter.

quote:Are you insane? First, we have no idea when Bonds starting juicing, and really only circumstantial evidence he did (but let's assume he did). We don't know squat about the particulars of his PED use, and it's all rumor and conjuecture.

But let's assume Bonds didn't start using until after the McGwire/Sosa HR chase, the accepted storyline. Had Bonds been hit by a bus right then, he would've been a Hall of Famer. And not a borderline Jim Rice HOF'er. I'm talking, inner-cricle, Oh My God He Was Awesome HOF. Bonds was the best player on earth for a decade before he touched steroids. Comparing him to Robinson Cano is ridiculous.

There are some, like Art De Vany, that say steroids don't help people hit home runs. Roger Maris 61 HR season was more of an outlier based on his career than Brady Andersons 50 or Bonds 73, but we wouldn't want to ruin a good "cheating" story.
I'd love to read his paper, but can't find it so far. Here is a podcast De Vany did, the first half talks about setroids in baseball

It's not like Bonds was a slap ball hitter prior to the late 90s and early 2000s, and there were changes in bat technology, how tightly the ball was wound, dimensions of ball parks, and a more shallow pool of pitching talent.

So why did he take them?
