I think this is the tip of the iceberg.
I think this is the year some smart player or agent challenges eligibility rules. Why would any system QB in college making $3 MM+ want to subject themselves to the draft? And what possible court would rule in favor of NCAA eligibility rules if the players are being paid by the schools? The restrictions will be found to be ageist and violate labor laws.
The NCAA needs to figure out how to enforce contracts so there’s not wholesale free agency every year that burns out the fanbases.

1/9/12 is like the real life equivalent of the recurring dream where you’re naked in class or you show up to class and there’s a test that you forgot… except they’re both happening at the same time.

That was the reason for my original answer. At a really basic level, there’s no real argument *against our differences making us stronger. Differences in sex. Differences in educational focus versus physical focus versus experience (trade) focus is necessary for a functioning country/economy. It’s the nuanced part that people get hung up on (marginalized groups primarily).
