The Astros have never had red and blue in an uniform combination
You’re right you crazy bastard. I always thought it was “brick red and navy” but it was brick red and black.

Yup. Farthest south and west team for a long time and you hit the nail on the head with KMOX. Same reason there are lots of Cubs (WGN) and Braves (TBS) fans in LA from later generations.
**As for the condescension piece… it’s not the fans. There was a period of time (especially those late 00s and early 10s teams) where “the Cardinal Way” rubbed other fanbases the wrong way. Guys like Chris Carpenter, Yadi, etc that were loved in St. Louis but villains everywhere else.

I couldn't stand Borden's.
I worked in a grocery store all through high school and unloaded pretty much everything that came into the store at one point or another. Unilaterally, the condition of Borden’s milk coming off the trucks was so bad that we had to wipe/disinfect the jugs before putting them on display. Disgusting. Covered in splotches that looked like mildew and the truck smelled like really sour milk. None of the other off-brands had that issue. Will not drink Borden’s to this day.

St. Louis has been having attendance issues.
Been brewing for a couple years now. It’s intentional. A fan referendum on Mozeliak and Marmol. Tough to watch but can’t blame the fans. Team is playing hard, too. No win situation all around. And completely self-induced by the front office.

Remember when the Stros changed their colors to red and blue so it wouldn’t look so bad when the Cubs, Braves, and Cards outdrew them in their own house?

Name Your Goal Economic Metrics for April 2026
Posted by Stagg8 on 4/6/25 at 3:14 pm
A departure from all the Monday morning quarterbacking on tariffs… this time next year, what key economic metrics are you willing to say you need to see, objectively, to say there’s been a marked economic improvement from the last administration?
re: College all star team vs MLB team

You see community colleges beating MLB teams in spring training, definitely not out of the realm of possibility that the college team could win a game.
This is the problem with any of these hypotheticals. If the scenario is “an exhibition game,” of course any pro team can play scrubs, or jack around, or both. I’m taking this hypothetical as “what would happen if a college All-Star team played the St. Louis Cardinals (starters and 1-2-3 rotation) in a three game set that mattered?”

Or what if AI is trolling, smoking a J, and thinking to itself “no one’s gonna check this shite.” :dunno:
re: College all star team vs MLB team

In a three game series with the Cards, I would say a college All-Star team has a 90 % chance of being swept, a 7 % chance of taking one game, and a 3 % chance of another outcome (or rain).

I like that you asked for substantiation of claims. This site could sure use more of that.
Now I'm going to ask for substantiation of that claim.
I linked Yale Business School rundown from The Independent.

The fact that Trump and Musk are "silver spooner billionaires" is supposed to be worse than that? Why exactly?
It’s probably a completely different conversation, but I find it so interesting that two dudes whose actions couldn’t be more disparate from the values we were taught as kids are now infallible in the eyes of people who did actually pull themselves up by their boot straps.

Fed employees are being fired.
They’re firing based on being “probationary” (which can include promotions).
Large percentage of federal employees are vets.
:dunno: Literally from the first page.
