I'm sure this is a dumb question but if Ozzie is back to his normal self, could he potentially move to SS and let Grissom stay at 2nd? I have no idea what Ozzie's ability is like at that position but I'm assuming it's not great since I've heard no mention of the possibility.
I think arm strength is the biggest problem for Ozzie at short. Plenty of range, but would struggle to get long throws across in time. I'm not sure he would actually be worse than Grissom, though, given Vaughn's lack of range, but I think the main reason none of us talk about Ozzie moving to short is because we never hear the Braves even mention the possibility.

I'm just ready for Dansby to make a decision so we can move on one way or another.

Adrianza signed to a minor league deal, but will only make $1m if he makes the MLB roster, which means he'll likely make the MLB roster.

Sure have. And Dansby has been decent but he sure isn’t the reason we won the World Series. He’s an above average shortstop. He stunk in the playoffs the last 2 years. Sure, he had a couple of jacks in 2021 but when you get at bats most players will have a game or two. Grissom, if given everyday at bats, will also have solid stats. Dansby is easily replaceable. Sorry so many of you will miss the flowing hair, but just look at reality. He’s a streaky hitter with solid defense. And he sure wasn’t streaky this post season or in 2021. He was a hole and Rosario,Pederson , and Soler filled that hole.
Jesus Christ.

Dansby got married last weekend and is currently on his honeymoon.
He said in that local ATL radio interview that he would worry about his free agency AFTER getting married and the honeymoon.
So I expect he may take a lot longer that we think.
Next week is Christmas week then the new year.... he may not sign until early January.

He also lost his grandad on Sunday, the day after his wedding.

We just got Hoy Park (asian-version of Adrianza) for cash or a PTBNL in a trade with the Red Sox.

You Dansby fanboys are something else. Dansby sucked in the playoffs more than he didn’t. And the Braves will win more games next year without him than with him last year.
As for him being this so called “winner”, please. He went to the premier baseball college and then the Braves. No kidding he’s won a lot of games. He’s had a silver spoon in his mouth since high school. I cant wait until he signs with a team where he isn’t surrounded by studs. Then let’s see what he does. Whoever signs him will regret it by June let alone in years from now.

I don’t agree, but I hope you’re right.

While it would be great to see Swanson return, I’d rather see the $20-25 million used on 3-4 players…Andrus and Conforto. Or maybe Matt Carpenter. Heck, bring Craig Kimbrel back.

So why do you think Grissom is a better SS than Swanson?

AA spoke briefly at a big $ charity event that my brother in law was able to attend. No phones, everything was supposed to be off the record, etc. Nothing groundbreaking and nothing really about specific players but they had a short Q&A apparently and AA was asked some philosophical questions.
He mentioned that when he arrived he went several years without trading any top notch prospects. Indicated several reasons for that. 1. Wanted to get to know the system. 2. Didn’t think big league club was close enough to WS to subtract future core guys in trades. Mentioned those 19-22 year olds who could be future all stars are most valuable currency when building even if only small portion become that. Risk of trading wrong guy not worth it unless you’re knocking right on door of title. 3. And most interestingly he said when you have an elite farm like what he was lucky enough to inherit it makes getting proper value in trades very tough. Mentioned that Austin Riley was ranked by some as their 9th-10th best prospect behind Acuña, Albies, Fried, Soroka, etc. and he was being comped in trade discussions to other teams 9th best prospect who may have been a future AAAA guy and wouldn’t even crack their top 30. Mentioned that a team (I assume Marlins/Realmuto) was asking for Albies, Anderson, Riley for a star player and they ended up trading to another org for similar ranked players within that org but for Braves it would have been more like their 4th, 10th and 20th guys.
Also mentioned that with their window wide open and farm needing a lot of help that they can squeeze a lot more value out of their “#1 guy” in some discussions even if he is equal to what might have been their 14th guy when he got there. Replenishing the farm will be done through international market and draft and when next wave arrives they will treat it as they always have and give those guys a chance at big league level but for now in many instances using player development to supplement big league roster through trades is going to be better use. Makes me think they may not be done dealing guys even if it means totally wiping out Shuster/Shewmake etc.

If we could dupe someone into giving us anything of worth for Shewmake, we need to do it. His bat does not play in MLB.
So hopefully, if teams are viewing our 9th best prospect as other #9 prospects when our farm was stacked, they’ll view our top prospects as other top prospects when our farm Is barren
